How-to: tailor a face mask to your skin type

While your skin may fall under a certain skin type category and stay put for the most part, there will be times when – due to emotional or environmental stressors, illness or hormonal changes – it can change somewhat, becoming more oily, more sensitive, or more dry.
When this happens, rather than forking out for an entire new skin care regime that you’ll probably only need for a few weeks, simply tailor the products you have to suit the needs of your skin.
A great product to do this with is the Eminence Organic Skin Care Radish Seed Refining Peel. Formulated with detoxifying herbal extracts, it’s designed to get rid of dead skin cells, deep cleanse your pores and minimise fine lines and wrinkles. Here’s how you can tailor it to your skin type:
I have sensitive skin: Dilute the face peel with water and apply a thin layer of the peel onto a clean and dry face and neck, avoiding the eye area and any active acne lesions. Leave on the skin for three to five minutes before removing with cool water.
I have normal skin: Apply a thin layer of the face peel onto a clean and dry face and neck, avoiding the eye area and any active acne lesions. Leave on the skin for three to five minutes before removing with cool water. Dilution not required.
I have dry and non-sensitive skin: Apply a thin layer of the face peel onto a clean and dry face and neck, avoiding the eye area and any active acne lesions. Leave on the skin for five to 10 minutes before removing with cool water. Dilution not required.
Does your skin type ever change, or is it pretty consistent in its categorisation?

My skin type never changes and is consistently sensitive though does get dry at times. I tend to stay away from face masks as I had a reaction a few years ago and have not been game to try a different or another one. Though after reading this I may give it another go using the advice for sensitive skin.

My skin changes all the time!!! When I wake up it's either normal, dry or combination depending on whether I had a shower the previous night. During the day it becomes dry or combination or sometimes after a shower it becomes normal or combination and then right before I go to bed it becomes combination. As if that wasn't bad enough, only my nose seems to be sensitive and oily whereas my cheeks and elsewhere seem non-sensitive and dry
