How-to: tailor a face mask to your skin type

While your skin may fall under a certain skin type category and stay put for the most part, there will be times when – due to emotional or environmental stressors, illness or hormonal changes – it can change somewhat, becoming more oily, more sensitive, or more dry.
When this happens, rather than forking out for an entire new skin care regime that you’ll probably only need for a few weeks, simply tailor the products you have to suit the needs of your skin.
A great product to do this with is the Eminence Organic Skin Care Radish Seed Refining Peel. Formulated with detoxifying herbal extracts, it’s designed to get rid of dead skin cells, deep cleanse your pores and minimise fine lines and wrinkles. Here’s how you can tailor it to your skin type:
I have sensitive skin: Dilute the face peel with water and apply a thin layer of the peel onto a clean and dry face and neck, avoiding the eye area and any active acne lesions. Leave on the skin for three to five minutes before removing with cool water.
I have normal skin: Apply a thin layer of the face peel onto a clean and dry face and neck, avoiding the eye area and any active acne lesions. Leave on the skin for three to five minutes before removing with cool water. Dilution not required.
I have dry and non-sensitive skin: Apply a thin layer of the face peel onto a clean and dry face and neck, avoiding the eye area and any active acne lesions. Leave on the skin for five to 10 minutes before removing with cool water. Dilution not required.
Does your skin type ever change, or is it pretty consistent in its categorisation?

This article reminds me of multimasking, targeting areas with multiple mask for different problems.

My skin does change across seasons - I always crave thicker, more lush products over winter.

Commercial face masks are a little too harsh for my skin so I like to make my own so that I know what Im really putting onto my skin.

Mine's such a combination! During summer it's more oily, and in winter super dry!

My skin changes with the weather. It's really oily in the summer but the products are too harsh for winter. Hence I try not to use the same face masks that I would use in summer.

My cheeks can become a little drier in the winter months and be quite normal in summer, however I have an oily T-Zone all year round!

My skin is fairly consistent, it has been combination skin since puberty but lately I've noticed it become even drier than normal

My skin does change with the seasons, if its hot and humid it gets more greasy, and also I tend to get more breakouts in this period as Im also using more sunblock. During winter I have a dry skin from time to time (still oliy t-zone) due to heating. So I always have numerous masks to use depending on the state of my skin.
