How much moisturiser should you use?

Not sure how much face cream you should be applying at each use? If you’ve splurged on a luxe serum or face cream you’ll no doubt want your product to last as long as possible – so waste not, want not!
According to the skin care experts at La Mer, when it comes to applying face creams and face serums, you only need a pea-sized amount. La Mer also recommends warming the product between your fingertips first, as this helps to activate and release the ingredients in the product. You should then gently pat (not rub) the product into your skin.
Try it with: La Mer Crème de la Mer
How much moisturiser and/serum do you generally use?
How long does it usually take before your product runs out?

Mine normally last me between 3-6 months depending on the size of the bottle of the product...

Isn't it all relative though? When my skin is really dry in winter I always need more moisturiser and usually less in summer... I do agree with the patting it in but - especially when I get straight out of the shower, it really feels like it has soaked in, whereas when I moisturise at other times I feel like I need to really rub it in

I use a lot more than a pea sized amount! And I'm also guilty of rubbing it in. Woops.

I usually use about a pea-sized amount of moisturiser, but it really depends on the product. I've used some really bad/ineffective moisturisers and have need a hell of a lot more to get the same results!

I have experimented over time and discovered that the "pea-sized" rule actually does work, even though it seems counter-intuitive. I have awesome Day & Night Serums and only use 2 tiny pumps each time.

My moisturises tend to last quite some time, as I only like to use what's necessary for my face and neck.

I probably tend to use a little too much product.

Well I guess I will have to cut back on what I apply and see if there is a difference.

I use as much as will absorb within an hour or so or will not make me break out. I figure you can never over moisturise (as long as you are not getting pimples).

i think i am doing pretty well with my moisturiser but i dont warm it thats something i havent heard of before.I try and not use too much and i find that i start with a small amount and then see how quickly that soaks in and i make sure that i have covered all of my face and neck. I only use and need a small amount of my serum as i find it goes in quickly and i do this both morning and at night so i have almost got it right

When I first get a moisturiser I use as little as possible put on little by little as needed. After I've used it a while I normally know. I depends with different moisturisers. I find warming up the moisturiser works well especially with thicker creams but at the same time you have to make sure your hands are clean, otherwis you're rubbing dirt and bacteria onto your face

I've been been using regular Nivea Creme on my face because it's lovely and thick and I use quite a good amount otherwise my skin feels dry.

I feel the bigger my bottle of moisturizer is, the more I tend to use at once-and I use a lot more in winter.
