Blogstar entry: dry lip remedies
Just thought I'd quickly update you on two of my favourite products but also something that I see as an essential for both guys and girls!
During winter, our skin gets dried out so easily from unruly wind but the end of winter doesn't mean the end of dry lips. I actually have two favourite lip products that I use to conquer this problem.
Nivea Essential Care Lip Balm RRP: $3.98
I love the packaging of this! It's a convenient lip-stick style balm that you can bring with you anywhere and everywhere you go. With even just one coat, your lips are left feeling instantly softer, smoother and more moisturised.
Nivea have also revamped the look of the lid by adding some nifty designs. They've actually done this to their whole range of lip balms (but this one proves to be my favourite) but I believe that it is only limited edition so grab it while you can!
If you want soft, nurtured lips, go for this!
Pros: cheap, leaves a natural looking gloss, moisturises
Cons: no SPF protection (however, Nivea do offer this in another balm from their range)
My second must-have lip care product is none other than *drumroll*;
Lucas Paw Paw Ointment RRP: 25g $5.53,
This paw paw ointment is a natural remedy that actually has many uses. You can use it to treat mild burns, rashes, really dry skin, etc. On myself, I use it as a lip balm because it's a really nurturing and rich formula. This does the trick for stubborn dryness in winter for sure.
The packaging is a simple tube and I prefer the 25g as opposed to its larger sizes because this one is easy to bring around. This paw paw ointment is a tad more expensive than the Nivea lip balm but it is definitely worth it and it lasts for much longer (as I have personally found).
Pros: leaves subtle glossy look, really nurturing - moisturises so well, replaces multiple products in the one.
Cons: I am not a fan of the smell itself BUT it is really subtle, requires finger application (I find it too messy to apply straight from the package), can be too greasy at times
Overall, my favourite out of the two is actually the Nivea Lip Essentials Balm. It's such great quality for value and I love the convenience of the packaging. It also gives that nice subtle gloss that just livens up your natural lip colour. The formula has a really nice fragrance too... almost soothing to your senses as well as your lips!
As I said before, I think that both of these products can be used by both sexes and even though I've stated that they're my favourite WINTER products, I truthfully wear them all year.
