It’s not often we hear from Jennifer Garner. Obviously, her name has been mentioned in relation to Ben Affleck (her ex-husband) and JLo’s recent wedding, but beyond that, the actress keeps her life relatively private. Which is why we’re excited to announce that we’ve finally got some Jen-related news, and this time it’s on the ever so personal topic: cosmetic injectables. Harper’s Bazaar asked the Suddenly 30 star what advice she would give to her daughters, Violet and Seraphina, if they ever wanted to start “making changes” to their appearance. And though she didn’t say a blanket no to Botox as some celebrities have, she’s hardly endorsing the treatments either.
“Be cautious when it comes to injecting anything into your face,” she began. “Be very, very incredibly judicious and wait as long as possible to add anything. Don’t think that you’re 37 and you need to be shooting up your face,” she said, giving us a glimpse into her direct parenting style.
As for her suggestions on how to avoid the temptation to make these ‘improvements’? Her answer was simple and well, incredibly grounded. “Look in the mirror less, obsess less and look at the rest of the world to see what you could be using your time for instead,” she said. The kind of advice you’d expect to hear from your no-fuss grandmother but not so much from an A-list actress.
While there’s no question we agree with Jen’s sentiment, we also firmly believe that there’s no shame in either game. As long as people are doing what makes themselves happy, we’re in full support.
What do you think about cosmetic injectables? What advice would you give someone wanting to try them for the first time?
