I’ve been best friends with my, erm… best friend for around 10 years now. I know her pretty well and she knows me. I thought I had all of her habits (beauty and otherwise) down pat. I mean, I know she lines the inner rim of her top lash line everyday without fail, checks her outfit at least three times before she leaves the house, and needs her jewelled ‘make-up’ headband in order to keep her hair off her face when she puts on her face. But this latest habit? Well, it took me a little by surprise.
Upon moving into our new place late last week, I discovered that I’d left make-up remover and cleanser out of my beauty box. Horrified, I called upon my bestie-turned-flatmate for help until I could get my paws on some the next day in beautyheaven HQ.
She laughed at the irony of my forgetting such a vital skincare element, (after all, I more than anyone know that ‘thou shalt never sleep in one’s make-up’) and she handed me a box of cotton ear buds. Unsure of what she recommended I do with these, I had to ask…
She told me to take one along the upper and lower inner rim of my eye, wiping the eyeliner and mascara remnants as I go. I couldn’t believe she used a whole cotton bud each night to remove her make-up! Not only is it a big negative environmentally, but I wouldn’t call it too effective either.
Sure enough, the next day I had the faint trace of panda eyes. Fabulous! I bolted into work that morning and put my paws straight on a bottle of Trilogy SENSITIVE SKIN Very Gentle Cleansing Cream – because I’d rather save my cotton buds for my ears – and put them nowhere near my eyes thank you!
