Sea your way to a smooth summer

Diet schmiet: getting ready for summer doesn’t mean getting thin, but it does involve preparing your skin for the harsher climate. And guess what? Sea salt is just the ticket. This week I donned a pretty apron and discovered how simple old sea salt can have you feeling super smooth all summer long…

Bath salts

6 cups sea salt
6 cups Epsom Salts
2 cups baking soda
A few drops of your favourite essentials oil (I love jasmine)
Mix the salts and baking soda together really well then add a few drops of your chosen essential oil. Voila! Simple eh?

There’s no better way to remove sun block and leave your skin looking radiant than with a good ol’ fashioned scrub. And as avos are in season I went for this one:

Avocado face scrub

4 cups sea salt
1 mashed avocado
½  teaspoon virgin coconut oil
½  teaspoon olive oil
1 tablespoon honey
Add all the ingredients together and mix well. Massage over entire face avoiding the eye area and rinse with warm water.

Ever sat on the beach rubbing sand into your feet? Go one step further and whip up your very own foot scrub. Move over Nigella!

Foot scrub

¼ cup sea salt
¼ cup Epsom Salt
¼ cup liquid hand wash (I love Palmolive Aromatherapy Sensual Liquid Hand Wash)
¼ cup light canola oil
1 tablespoon of coarse, clean sand
Mix all the ingredients together. Soak feet in warm water for a few minutes to cleanse and soften skin and then use your hands to rub the foot scrub over the entire feet concentrating on any areas of dry, rough skin.
