How to reduce the appearance of your pores this summer

If you ask us, one of the worst beauty problems that comes with summer is clogged and enlarged pores.
Make-up, sunscreen and sweat can wreak serious havoc on clear skin, congesting your complexion seemingly overnight.
Even that exotic holiday won’t necessarily do your t-zone any favours. In fact, the skin dehydration you can experience when flying – not to mention daily basking in the coolness of air-conditioning – can leave you with a layer of dead skin cells, which in turn trap sweat residue, make-up and impurities within your pores and can enlarge them even further.
The good news? While you can’t make your pores disappear altogether, you can minimise their appearance – even with the curveballs summer throws your way.
Using a cleanser every day is still important, but to really target those enlarged pores, you also need to introduce the right exfoliator.
Bioré® Charcoal Pore Minimiser is designed to deep cleanse and clear away pore-clogging impurities that your everyday cleanser can’t reach.
Formulated with micro-crystals, it gently sloughs off dead skin cells before they clog your pores, without irritating your renewed skin.
It is also infused with charcoal, which works to absorb impurities and extract dirt and oil from your pores, helping reduce their appearance after just one wash. Pretty impressive, huh?!
For best results, you will need to use this summer staple two to three times a week. Remember, its gentle formula makes it suitable for regular use (and we all know consistency is key when it comes to skin care).
Oh, and just FYI: Bioré® Charcoal Pore Minimiser can be used in conjunction with the Deep Pore Charcoal Cleanser and Pore Unclogging Scrub.
Other tips to minimise pores:
- Use warm water when cleansing to help open up your pores and allow your product to penetrate further.
- Switch to a mineral and/or non-comedogenic foundation, as these are less likely to block your pores.
- Wash your pillow case, make-up brushes and phone regularly to prevent transference of sweat and bacteria to your skin.
What are your biggest skin concerns during summer? Are enlarged pores a problem for you?

Washing pillow cases and makeup brushes regularly is an important tip to remember. Ever since I've began washing them often I have noticed that my skin seems better.

The only bioré product I like is the nose strips. As for the others, I have never had any good results with them.

Hmmm exfoliating with bits doesn't work for my skin. They tend to produce zits with the tiny particles inside. I keep on looking for a good exfoliator. Haven't tried this particular product though.

I found that since using a good cleanser with my clarisonic twice a day, my skin is so much healthier and my pores are so much better looking! I had limited success with pore strips and pore masks. So much happier nowdays!

I find Biore cleansers a bit too harsh for my skin. But this is not the charcoal range. I might give it a try one day :)

I'm on a self-imposed spending ban until I get my dollars back up. Once my account looks a bit healthier, I will be working on the pores!

I just found a pore strip recipe for blackheads with 2 ingredients. Milk and gelatin. It work so well. 1 tablespoon gelatin, 2 tablespoons of milkm and put it in the micorwave for 30 seconds. Its a bit smelly... then make sure its the right temperature for your face then leave it on for 15 minutes. Only apply to blackhead areas
