The new multipurpose masks we’re obsessed with

I’ve been trialling the Hydrating Mask from new Australian clay mask brand, Minennssey, and I’m so happy with the extra hydration they’ve provided for my dry winter skin. They also bring a luxe feel to DIY skin care and I love that they can be used on hair or skin.

Nine Minenssey Hydrating Masks come portioned out in what look like cute little coffee pods in a velvet-lined black box. This was a major plus for me. I have zero control with jars and squeezy-tubes. I can't help but use giant, unnecessary globs. So these rationed-out masks were perfect for me. And there is more than enough in each tub to apply a thick layer over your whole face.
The masks are opaque, white, lightweight and really creamy. You also get a little synthetic brush to apply them with. It’s a really nice brush that's smooth and luxe-looking, so applying the mask is easy. It's actually quite relaxing and a bit of fun (because of the mask's light consistency it just feels like you're painting).
The instructions say to leave the mask on overnight but I used it during the day the first time. As you apply it, it feels like a really thick layer, and I was curious about if it would actually sink into my skin without me needing to rinse it off. But sure enough, after a few hours, it had nearly disappeared! I did rinse it off at that point and found that my skin already looked more glowy than usual. The following day it was plump and bouncy. I was impressed. Since then, I’ve also tried it overnight. I applied it the same way and let it dry a bit before I went to sleep. I had no issues during the night and when I woke up in the morning I rinsed off a tiny bit of residue. I'd highly recommend doing it overnight, my skin looked so clear that I didn't even bother with makeup!
I also tried it out as a hair mask. After shampooing and conditioning my hair, I smoothed one of the masks onto my locks and left it for 20 minutes. Once I washed it out, my hair looked and felt so much smoother (which is a nice change of pace for my messy and easily-tangled mop).
I loved using these Minenssey Hydrating Masks. My hair and face could always do with some extra hydration (especially in winter) and the fact that these are a fun multipurpose way to do that is a bonus. I think they’re a great Sunday pamper sesh product or the perfect thing to do prior to a big event.
All of Minenssey’s masks are made up of Australian ingredients and this one, in particular, contains white clay, flannel flower and rosella fruit for hydration. You can also get rejuvenating, deep cleansing and brightening masks from Minenssey.

I absolutely love the sound of this product. I use a brush from The Body Shop to apply my masks and I agree- it's so relaxing and feels like I'm painting. It makes it kinda fun, too. I love the idea that these individual masks come portioned out- its so easy to apply more product then needed, so this sounds more economical in the long run! I have a few overnight masks I've purchased waiting to be used, I'm a bit worried they might leave a residue and possibly stain my bedding so I'll probably try it out first like you did- during the day!

I plan on trying the masks from this brand one day, however their packaging is not very considerate towards the environment.

This is interesting. I am starting to use more masks on my face these days, when I have the time. I'm very reluctant to put much into my hair as it is in very good condition already, fine blonde, with grey. I do colour my hair at home but not as frequently as recommended only to minimize any damage. Not sure if I really would find a difference to my hair if I did use a mask but at least with this one if it gets into hair while on the face it could be a bonus. Usually the hair around the face gets the harshest wear anyway. Love products made in Australia because of the strict quality controls placed by Government. And great to support Australian made, Australian businesses.

Love the idea of the single use masks however probably not the best environmentally with more waste.

agree! the world could really use less plastic, if they provided a reusable cup to measure it, it would have been more ideal.

This looks absolutely amazing! It's a little too bad the pricetag is too big for trial and error, for me anyway... but I will be keeping track of other members' reviews for sure!
