We review: new favourite beauty buys

Here at beautyheaven, we get the chance to review lots of products. We love sharing our honest opinion to make it easier for you guys when you hit the shops.

This month, the bh team tried some products that you’re going love. From the fragrance diffuser that bh’s Eloise can’t get enough of in her home, to the brow pencil that whipped bh’s Sophie’s brows into shape, the hair tool that bh’s Kate uses to make the perfect curl, and the eye cream that bh’s Skye says is helping to keep her under eyes look hydrated.

bh’s Eloise says:

“I love home fragrances but I’d never tried out a reed diffuser before this Glasshouse Fragrances Amalfi Coast – Sea Mist Triple Strength Fragrance Diffuser. As someone who forgets to light their candles and can be a bit lazy when it comes to filling up the essential oil diffuser, this low maintenance fragrance diffuser is a dream. With really minimal effort, it can last for up to six months. After popping the reed diffusers in, I was already sold just because of how good it looked on the shelf! It’s an elegant glass bottle with a pretty, pale green label on the front. When I came back to turn the reeds over after the first five minutes, I couldn’t believe how much of the scent had already soaked into them. I put it on a shelf in the walkway between my entryway, living and dining room and before long, the scent had travelled entirely throughout these spaces. The scent is really refreshing and made up of lavender, moss and lime. I’ve never been to the Amalfi Coast, but if this diffuser is what it smells like – sign me up!”

bh’s Sophie says:

“I take brow pencils very seriously. A few years ago I found a pencil that I liked and I rarely stray from it. When the PONI Brow Magic brow pencil landed on my desk I was hesitant to try it, but I’d heard such great things about this particular pencil that I thought it was worth trying it. And I am so glad I did! This pencil ticks so many boxes for me. It has a fine tip, which allows for precise application, so I can create natural-looking hairlike strokes. The formula contains biotin, which is a known growth stimulator, so every time you use the pencil it’s almost like you’re giving your brows a treatment. The one thing I was concerned about was the colour. I find it difficult to find a brow pencil in a flattering shade and worried that a ‘universal shade’ wouldn’t work for me. But boy was I wrong! With the right pressure, the universal shade gives me the perfect ashy colour for my brows. I’d recommend this pencil to anyone who is on the hunt for a new brow pencil – you really can’t go wrong with it!”

bh’s Kate says:

“Getting the perfect curl can be tricky business. You’ve got to consider just how tight or loose you want the curl to be and then try to determine the hair tool that can best help you achieve the look. Should you do curls with your straightener? Or with a curler? And if you choose a curler, how big should the barrel be? Thankfully, the VS Sassoon Curl Secret Multi Curl – VSP1300A has taken all the guesswork out of my hair styling!

The Curl Secret Multi Curl is an automatic curling tool that wraps your hair into a barrel before releasing it into the perfect curl. It comes with two different barrel sizes that you can choose from, depending on the type of curl you want to achieve – for tighter curls there’s a 25 mm barrel, while the 35mm barrel is best for bigger, looser curls. I love a looser, more undone look so the 35mm is perfect for me. You can change the direction of the curl with the flick of a switch, which I love because curling away from the face is a must. You can choose the ideal temperature for your hair so you’re never using unnecessary heat and there’s a handy timer that beeps to let you know when your curl is ready to be released from the barrel. When I’m using a regular curling tong I always forget how long I’ve held my curl on the barrel for, so the timer is great for me (especially first thing in morning while I’m still half asleep!) because I know the curl is done. It’s great for short hair, long hair and everything in between!”

bh’s Skye says:

“I’ve been using the Juliette Armand Opsis Therapy  – Lift Antwrinkle Eye Cream for 12 weeks now and I’m 100% impressed with the results. The Juliette Armand Opsis Therapy is a lift & anti wrinkle eye cream for the under eye area, it has a great syringe like delivery system that allows a small dose of the product that has a  balm like consistency giving you the correct amount of this lovely cream and a little definitely goes a long way. Apply morning and night to the under eye area which instantly hydrates and absorbs into the delicate skin reducing puffiness, fine lines and dark circles.”
