We review: beauty must-haves

Just when you thought you’d read every beauty review, the beautyheaven team are at it again trialling products to make your life a whole lot easier.

This month, the beautyheaven team reviewed this amazing bunch of beauty goodies. From the lip balm Sophie says is gentle enough for sensitive lips to the shampoo & conditioner that left Ellie’s hair smelling really clean and refreshing and the eye cream Kristy trialled.

Carmex ® lip balm

“Being on Roaccutane, my lips are constantly dry and flaky. For this reason, I take my lip balms very seriously. So when the Carmex ® lip balm landed on my desk I was thrilled! Why? Because I already use Carmex ® lip balm daily and am always in need of a new jar. This cult classic works well for chapped lips and I even like to pop it on top of lipstick to make my lips feel more comfortable. When you first apply it you’ll notice a slight tingling sensation because it mildly exfoliates the lips too, which helps to banish flakiness. But don’t worry, it’s still gentle enough for sensitive lips. I would recommend this lip balm to absolutely everyone because we all need a really good, effective lip balm.”

Head & shoulders apple fresh shampoo& conditioner

“After getting a hair treatment a couple of months ago and experiencing some scalp issues as a result, I was super excited to trial the Head & Shoulders Apple Fresh Shampoo and Conditioner. And I have to say, this duo didn’t disappoint! The Head & Shoulders Apple Fresh Shampoo is formulated to cleanse, protect, and moisturise your hair while also removing any dandruff. When you first flip the lid, you get a whiff of that fresh apple scent and it is fabulous. It smells really clean and refreshing but isn’t too overpowering – perfect for hair. The shampoo itself is a pretty, mint green colour and lathers really well. One of my biggest pet peeves is a shampoo that doesn’t lather well so I was very happy with this shampoo! After using this shampoo, I was surprised by how thoroughly cleaned my hair felt.The Head & Shoulders Apple Fresh Conditioner is equally good! It’s got a nice, thick consistency and has the same clean apple scent. I’m actually really impressed with how well this shampoo and conditioner worked. My hair is unbelievably soft and shiny. I feel like it hasn’t felt this clean in a long time. I’d recommend this shampoo and conditioner to anyone having trouble with a dry and flaky scalp, but also to anyone who just wants a really thorough clean and soft and shiny locks (aka all of us, am I right, ladies?!).”

Skin Physics Eyefix 360 Anti-ageing Eye Treatment

“I have always made eye cream a must in my skin care regime. I apply it every morning and night after I cleanse my face. When I don’t, my eyes look dark and dry. So I was stoked to be trialling the Skin Physics Eyefix 360 Anti-ageing Eye Treatment. Made up of a blend of actives, peptides, and botanicals, this eye cream works to smooth, hydrate and plump. As soon as I applied it, my eyes felt hydrated and looked a whole lot less wrinkly. It absorbed quickly into my skin and created a nice, even surface for makeup application. My concealer glided over it without any hassles and was easy to blend.”
