Expert Trial Team: Products of the week

With summer officially in full swing, nothing is more comforting than knowing you’ve got a handful of friends to hold your hand and guide you through all the highs and lows.

And what’s better than an army of beauty products to primp and prep you for the festive season? From super lashes sorting you out for holiday snaps to fresh soap straight from the paddock, we’ve road-tested some of the best loot around. After all, that’s what friends are for.

Happy holidays, beauties!

Glam by Manicare Candice Lashes

bh’s Astrid says:

“I’m fairly lucky that I already have long lashes, but it’s nice to make them look even fuller, especially when I’m going to parties every night (that’s what it feels like, anyway!). I love that the Glam by Manicare Candice Lashes enhance what I already have, giving them more volume and length without making it obvious that I’m wearing falsies. They’re easy to apply, fuss-free and totally dummy-proof, so I just need a slick of liquid liner to complete my look. Instant boost!”

Billie Goat Soap Baby Basics Pack

bh’s Michelle says:

“I used Billie Goat Soap products on my first baby, and both he and I absolutely loved them. The products contain natural goats milk and are free from parabens, colours and synthetic fragrances. Now baby #2 is on the way and I’m stocking up on our faves. Conveniently, the Baby Basics Pack contains everything a little person needs for bath and massage time including a Baby Wash, Moisturiser and Cleansing Bar. The products are super gentle and smell great and I’m quite partial to using them myself! And just a note – when the toddler stage rolls around, the Billie Goat Soap Soothing Bubble Bath is a big hit with bubble lovers and doesn’t dry out their skin.”

Alpha-H Instant Facial

bh’s Rosie says:

“If you’re on a mission to get glowing, refreshed and younger-looking skin, this multi-purpose facial spray is for you. I’ve been applying this instant facial spray to my face, neck and decolletage every night after cleansing for the last week and it’s helped to smooth, firm and mattify my skin. It has an immediate cooling and soothing effect, and I can feel it ‘working’ straight away. It claims to deliver the “clarity and radiance of microdermabrasion and salon inspired peels without the abrasion”, and I can say that this product has definitely made my skin look and feel refreshed and revived upon waking.”

Ulta3 Watercolour kit

bh’s Carli says:

“First of all, I have to praise the white that comes in this pack. Two coats and you’ve got a perfectly opaque finish, which is hard to come by in a white nail polish. As for the rest of the kit, it was a lot of fun to play around with the coloured topcoats. I dotted, striped, and haphazardly painted, but what i loved the most was creating cool ombre effects with different colours. My only complaint is that there were only four top coat colours. I’d have loved to experiment with a few more shades, but that’s really just my inner four-year-old talking!”
