Batiste Dry Shampoo in Wild

bh’s Carli says…

“I had high expectations of this new offering from Batiste. I’ve used a few of their dry shampoos and have been impressed with the results of each of them. So if I was happy with the others, why try this one? 1) I’m a little bit obsessed with the leopard-print packaging and 2) It promises to add some extra volume and oomph as well as absorbing grease. It didn’t disappoint. After spraying my roots and massaging the product in, my hair instantly felt cleaner and had a bit more texture and height (perfect for those days when I’m curling my hair and would like some volume at the roots). If you’re into scented dry shampoos, you’ll be pleased with this combo of cocoa, vanilla and musk. Just a word of warning – make sure not to spray too close, otherwise you will turn grey. As a brunette (at my roots, at least), I found I had to work that little bit extra to get that dusty white finish to disappear.”

QV Face Exfoliating Polish

bh’s Cherie says…

“I have a love/hate relationship with exfoliating. Sometimes I find it rather thrilling and exfoliate three times a week. And then other times I completely forget all about it and go for weeks on end without scrubbing that dead layer of skin cells off my mug. However, now I’ve tried this gem, I’m determined to stick to a twice-weekly routine. Why? The formula is wonderfully creamy, which is great for my somewhat dry skin, and the polishing beads are anything but harsh. It also contains a whole heap of skin-loving ingredients (read: safflower oil and vitamin E and B3), so my skin is left feeling nourished as well as smooth. It’s also fragrance-free, making it a must-try polishing scrub for those with both sensitive skin and sensitive noses.”

O.P.I Nail Lacquer In The Cable Car-pool Lane

bh’s Olivia says…

“I know we’ve been encouraging you all to buck the obvious winter beauty trends and go for something against the grain – but I just can’t look past a delicious berry shade for winter, no matter how predictable it may seem. When I clapped eyes on the new San Francisco range from O.P.I (on counter in August), I just couldn’t help myself. My eyes were instantly drawn to a particularly delicious-looking berry hue and I had to have it on my digits, like, yesterday. The colour applied smoothly (in true O.P.I style) but what really impressed me was the high-shine finish and fast drying time. I applied the polish while nestled in bed (normally a rookie error, unless you like ‘sheet marks’ on your talons) and I was so relieved that my nails were perfectly smooth and shiny when I awoke. Snaps to this delightful rich berry shade that’s so perfect for winter – I can’t help but jump into this predictable trend head first, over and over again.”

MaxFactor Clump Defy Mascara by False Lash Effect

bh’s Sam says…

“First impressions: Ohhhh la la la! I love the metallic purple packaging and have always favoured mascaras with a thick tube (I’m not entirely sure why, thicker tube thicker lashes perhaps?). But besides the eye catching covering, the wand was the next thing to sway me.  It has harder bristles similar to a comb but with overall coverage, which means not a single lash is missed. I was really impressed by it’s ability to give my lashes both length and thickness as I find that most mascara’s can only do one or the other. It took a few coats for me to achieve my ideal level of thickness but as promised there was no clumping along the way.”
