Q. How would you describe your skin before using the Elucent products?

A. My skin was in fairly good condition before starting the trial, but my main skin concerns were pigment spots from sun damage and wrinkles across my forehead.

Q. What do you usually look for when shopping for skin care?

A. I enjoy reading reviews before I buy to see how a particular product really performs. beautyheaven is really useful for that! At my age, I like products that have some anti-ageing performance.

Q. Have you heard of AHAs before?

A. Yes, I’ve heard of alpha hydroxy acids in skin care and I’ve used them in the past, but not recently.

Q. How did you find the Elucent products during the trial?

A. I enjoyed using the set of three Elucent products; they left my skin noticeably softer and smoother.

The gentle cleanser and day moisturiser were great to use and I would recommend them to everyone of all skin types. The night moisturiser caused me some irritation in the first two weeks or so, but my skin eventually got used to this stronger dose of AHAs.

After the first three nights of using the night moisturiser each night, my skin became quite irritated, red and swollen, so I started using the night moisturiser just once every three nights. Eventually I stepped it up to every second night, then every night over the course of the trial month (while continuing to use the Elucent cleanser and day moisturiser daily). The 8 per cent AHA’s content (lactic acid and glycolic acid) was obviously a little too much for my skin at first, but as my skin got used to the AHAs, the night moisturiser started to leave my skin well moisturised, smooth and soft.

Q. How long did it take you to notice any improvements in your skin?

A. My skin became noticeably softer and smoother within the first two to three weeks, and improved from there on.

My skin definitely feels softer and smoother after this month of using the Elucent anti-ageing trio of products. The AHAs make a noticeable difference to the feel of my skin.

There hasn’t been any reduction of my wrinkles yet, but I’ll take the skin smoothing effect as a positive!

Q. Who would you recommend the Elucent products to?

A. Anyone who wants softer, smoother skin. This would be suitable for any age group – the anti-ageing label makes it sound like it’s perhaps for older people, but as the products main action is skin smoothing with the AHAs, [the Elucent range could suit someone looking for a smoother texture for their skin].

Q. What have you learnt about yourself/your skin from completing this trial?

A. I thought my skin was quite soft already, but this Elucent range made my skin really soft and smooth!

Always read the label. Follow the directions for use. Avoid prolonged sun exposure and wear protective clothing, hats and eyewear to further reduce risk. Frequent re-application is required.
