No. As the skin around the eye is fundamentally the same as the skin elsewhere on the face, apart from being a little thinner, it does not really need separate moisturisers. Its needs are fundamentally the same as the skin on the rest of the face.
The ingredients in eye creams are [essentially] no different than [those found in] rich moisturisers / night creams. If using one makes you feel better, invest in an intense moisturiser that can also double up as your eye cream and a night cream.
People make the mistake of thinking that wrinkles around the eye area are due to dry skin. Wrinkles around the eye are not due to dryness; they are creases from movement and the sun [sun damage]. Therefore, moisturising eye creams do not prevent nor treat them. However, mosturisers in general can make the area look better temporarily by plumping up the gaps in the creases and reflecting light.
Exactly. I use in the eye area same skincare I use on face (and neck and chest and lips….) retinol and acids.
