5 tips to help you wake up early
If you’re one serious sleepyhead that struggles to get out of bed in the morning, you should know – you’re not alone. Very few of us have the ability to hear our alarm and jump out of bed with glee and euphoria for the day ahead. It may not seem that important, but the way you get up in the morning can actually determine your mood for the whole day, so you want to make sure you rise and shine in the most undisruptive way possible, right?

Luckily, we’ve come up with a few fail-safe ways to ensure you get out of bed on the right side in the morning…
Natural sunlight is a fantastic alarm clock, without the deafening blaring noise. Leaving your blinds open overnight will mean that the natural sunlight will work to gently nudge you awake.
2. Change your tune
If the sun won’t suffice in waking you up, you will need an alarm clock – but the annoying blast of an alarm clock is enough to make anyone irritable. The solution? Change your tune; opt for a song that makes you feel happy so you wake up smiling, or soothing sounds of waves crashing that will make you think you’re somewhere else entirely.
3. Set your alarm earlier
While the idea of setting your alarm earlier seems like crazy talk, especially when you already struggle to get out of bed, we promise it will help. When your alarm goes off in the morning one of the worst things to have to do is jump straight up and get going, so set your alarm half an hour earlier and to give yourself time to lay there for a little while, think about your day ahead and gently wake up. That way you won’t start your day feeling rushed and stressed.
4. Hydration is key
Once you’re up and out of bed, your body may be screaming for coffee but the best thing you can do is give your body a boost of hydration. Once you are out of bed and moving, try and down one to two glasses of water before you eat or start your day.
5. Caffeinate your skin care
And speaking of your body screaming for coffee, we may have found the solution. Cleansing your skin is a really good way to wake up a tired complexion, but another way is to use caffeine infused skin care products. Green tea and caffeine (or the caffeine from green tea) works to constrict and de-puff sleepy eyes, as well as give your skin a burst of energy. bh loves: Origins Vitazing Energy-Boosting Tinted Moisturiser (find it at mecca.com.au), Clinique Pep-Start Hydro-Rush Moisturiser (find it at clinique.com.au), The Ordinary Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG (find it at myer.com.au before it sells out).
