The holiday skin care routine we’re following this summer

When it comes to preparing your summer skin care kit for your next summer holiday, it’s all about packing the most effortless beauty products. Even though I’m off having fun or chilling at the beach, my inner beauty addict still wants me to keep my skin glowing. And since I’m not going to be wearing much, or any, makeup for that matter, my skin care routine becomes even more important.

Simple Cleansing Facial Wipes

I don’t leave home on a normal day without a packet of wipes, so when I’m on summer holiday, they’re the first beauty product I pack. They’re great for a myriad of functions from refreshing my skin on a hot, humid day to cleansing stubborn waterproof mascara and sunscreen after a day at the beach.

BIODERMA Sensibio

Micellar water is one of those Holy Grail beauty products that kick arse in the cleansing stakes when you don’t want or can’t use your usual AM and PM cleanser. It’s also great for removing stains from clothing when you’ve over indulged in melting ice-cream.

Sukin Certified Organic Rose Hip Oil

I’m currently obsessed with Rose Hip Oil. It’s makes my skin feel super hydrated and soft to touch. When I’m on holidays, I like to streamline my PM skin care routine to cleanse and moisturise only. Since it’s so moisturising, Rose Hip oil is the perfect alternative to applying a night cream and a serum.

NIVEA Original Care Lip Balm

I one of those crazy women who has multiple lip balms stashed in every pocket, draw and bag. I once counted five just in my handbag. But I’ve got them stashed everywhere from my desk to my bedroom side table to my weekend handbag. So without a doubt, lip balm comes with me on holiday to protect my pout from the environmental factors like the wind and sun.

Sukin Hydrating Mist Toner

Who doesn’t love a cool misting on their face when the temp rises?! I like to pack one and keep it in the fridge so when my skin’s looking red and puffy from the heat, I can give my complexion a chilled spritz.

Ella Bache Great 50+ Facesaver Active

I always use a sunscreen that’s been formulated for the face. They’re not oily and usually contain hydrating ingredients so they’re perfect for protecting your face from the sun and giving your complexion a boost.

jane iredale Ready To Go Kit

Admittedly, I still love to apply a little bit of makeup when I’m on holiday, especially when we go out for dinner. But for me it’s all about illuminating and some coverage. So this Ready To Go Kit suits me to a tee. It contains Lemongrass Love Hydration Spray, Flirt LipDrink Lip Balm and In Touch Highlighter.

St. Tropez Self Tan Express Facial Sheet Mask

When I’m on holidays, I’m all about a tan, albeit a fake one. But I’m also keen on treating my skin, after a tough day in the sun, to a sheet mask. This St. Tropez Self Tan Express Facial Sheet Mask kills two birds with one stone. It’s highly hydrating but also give my face a gorgeous, even tan.

What’s in your summer holiday beauty bag? Have you tried any of these products?
