Stretch your skin care savings

Wouldn’t it be great if we could all afford everything we wanted, anytime we wanted? We could go on holiday whenever we liked, shop at designer stores without flinching at the price tags, throw lavish parties for no reason, and of course, buy as many beauty products as our hearts desired…
But back to reality...(sigh)…
While you might not be able to afford an endless supply of Birkin bags or luxury escapes every month, the good news is you don’t have to forfeit your beauty buys. Why? Because there are some great skin care products on the market that are not only affordable and effective, but that also work their little beauty butts off to give you multiple benefits. And you don’t have to be a mathematician to know that more beauty benefits = more bang for your beauty bucks!
Here, we bring you a few of our favourite multi-tasking skin care buys that won’t break the bank…
St. Ives Naturally Clear Green Tea Cleanser and Scrub
Formulated with a special blemish-fighting solution as well as soothing green tea, this range is ideal for adults who suffer from breakouts or acne, but need products that won’t be too harsh on their skin. So while the anti-blemish solution goes to work deep-cleansing your pores and ridding your skin of bacteria and impurities, vitamins C and E within the green tea work to calm your complexion and counteract redness. Green tea is also a well known antioxidant, so will help to protect against environmental aggressors, fight free radicals and keep your skin looking younger for longer.
endota spa Organic Rosehip Oil
If ever there was a hard-working, multi-tasking beauty buy, this is it. Rosehip oil has long been known for its scar and blemish-reducing abilities (thanks in part to its great anti-inflammatory properties), but did you know it can also help to minimise fine lines and wrinkles, and soothe skin irritations? All you need is a few drops applied day and night, and we guarantee you’ll notice a difference in your skin tone and texture within a few weeks of use. Want a couple of other ‘off the record’ rosehip tips? Massaged around your eyes before bed, the oil works as an intensive anti-wrinkle, anti-dark circles and de-puffing treatment. Likewise, a few drops applied to the ends of dry, damaged hair work wonders in replenishing moisture.
Garnier Youthful Radiance Anti-Dark Circles Roll-On Concealer
This little gem wasn’t a winner in our 2011 Glosscars for no reason! Not only does the massage ball stimulate the skin under your eyes to help reduce swelling and dark circles, but the lemon essence and caffeine in the formula also helps to revive the appearance of even the most tired-looking eyes. Oh and did I mention that it also houses a fabulous concealer and sunscreen too? All this for under a $20 – bargain! Click here to find out why our members voted this product as a Glosscar winner…

This article has finally convinced me to buy the Garnier roll-on. I've been meaning to do this for months (since I've heard so many great things!) but haven't gotten around to it. I'm going to go get some tomorrow!

I love my Dove cleanser & toner in one; it is so quick and easy, especially in the shower. Also love my Olay total effects touch of foundation. I can moisturise and put foundation on at the same time. I really love multi tasking.

I like the Nivea young range - tinted Moisutiser. It moisutizes and gives medium coverage. It works for me as I have clear skin. Also im of South asian origin but this colour suits me well, much better than some foundations which leave a mask like face.

I love the Neutrogena cleanser+mask. I don't know if it's still available in stores because I haven't seen it around but I have still have a tube going from last year and it's an amazing dual-purpose product.

Cetaphil moisturising lotion is great for both face and body any time of year. It is my favourite moisturiser for maintaining a spray tan and it doesn't contain anything that could strip the tan. Also it doesn't irritate eyes so when my eyes are being super allergic I dab it on as an eye cream. If you're really stuck, a cotton pad drenched in the lotion makes a great eye-makeup remover.
