Should you change skin care products?

Has your skin been really dry, super greasy, or irritated lately? You could be using the wrong skin care products for your skin type, so it might be time to change them up.
I’m not saying you need to overhaul your entire routine, but by just swapping one or two products, you could give your skin just what it’s craving, and end up with a brighter, healthier complexion.
So come on, embrace the change. Your skin will thank you for it!
YOUR SKIN IS: Dry and flaky
YOU’RE CURRENTLY USING: A foaming cleanser
TRY: A cream cleanser
Foaming cleansers are excellent for deeply cleansing skin and whisking away pore-clogging dirt and oils. But if your skin is on the dry side, foaming cleansers may dry it out even further, causing rough and flaky patches.
To solve that problem, switch to a creamy cleanser. It’ll give your skin a deep clean, as well as the hit of hydration it needs. Say hello to softer skin!

YOUR SKIN IS: Oily with breakouts
YOU’RE CURRENTLY USING: A foaming or gel cleanser
TRY: A cleansing oil
In some cases, oiliness skin can actually be the result of your skin being dehydrated and lacking moisture. Yep, it sounds odd, but a foaming or gel cleanser can actually strip away your skin’s natural oils, forcing your skin to work in overdrive to produce more oil, and leaving you looking like an oil slick by 3pm.
The fix? A cleansing oil. It will help to replenish lost hydration and re-balance your skin, while whisking away excess oil and grime.

YOUR SKIN IS: Red and irritated
YOU’RE CURRENTLY USING: A regular moisturiser
TRY: A soothing moisturiser
When your skin gets red, irritated, or both, it makes sense to relieve it with a moisturiser, right? Well, sort of. While a moisturiser is great for instantly cooling and hydrating irritated skin, it might not contain ingredients to soothe and calm your skin for longer-lasting relief. Pick one with ingredients like calendula, aloe, green tea, chamomile, or thermal water for gentle relief.

As someone with incredibly oily skin (seriously, it feels like I'm reaching for the tissues every hour or so to try and soak up some of the excess oil on my face, not to mention the ever-fun issues I have with acne on my chest and back), I'll definitely have to invest in an oil cleanser. Fingers crossed that I see some improvement!

I've never tried a cleansing oil, I've always used a balm and love it! I might have to try an oil though!

I definitely plan to swap this winter onto using a cream cleanser instead of my usual gel or foam cleansers. I think my skin will definitely benefit from the change in the colder weather

Well, I'm the last couple of years I have changed to more gentle cleansers and more deeply hydrating moisturises, as I'm getting older (31) and my skin has started to dry out a bit.

I learnt from this article I should be using a creamy cleanser and did this a while ago and do glad I did, the difference is amazing. Funny how you stick to a product for no particular reason, mix it up I say!
