6 signs you're stuck in a beauty rut

No matter how much you love primping and preening, there comes a moment in every girl’s life where she gets a little lazy and – dare I say it – bored with her beauty routine.
But fear not, as we’ve got quick and easy solutions for switching up your beauty routine to bring back that pep in your step (and look damn fine while you’re at it!).
Sign #1: You’re still using the same skin care products that you did in high school.
The fix: It’s likely you’re using products packed with strong, pimple-fighting ingredients, which won’t be doing anything to improve your now dehydrated skin and fine lines. Give your skin the age-appropriate hit of hydration it needs with a rich moisturiser like the Lapureté Okuru Resurrection Night Crème.
Sign #2: You’d rather do the dishes than put on your makeup. SO. MUCH. EFFORT.
The fix: Now is the time to clean out your beauty bag, ditch the old, crusty products, and discover the little beauties you completely forgot you had! Because really, the dishes can wait.
Sign #3: Whenever you try to fix up your winged eyeliner, you just end up making it worse. But instead of swiping on some makeup remover and starting over, you leave it, because… meh.
The fix: Get your mitts on an eyeliner that will ensure you wing it right every time. We love Maybelline New York Master Precise Liquid Eyeliner and L’Oréal Paris SuperLiner Perfect Slim Eyeliner.

Sign #4: You know primer and lip liner are essential for ensuring your makeup doesn’t move an inch, but you really just can’t be bothered with them.
The fix: Pick a primer that also contains SPF sun protection so you have absolutely no excuse not to apply it. Then, rather than applying lip liner and lipstick, skip the lippie and line and fill your pout with liner. Hey, if it’s good enough for Kylie Jenner…
Sign #5: Even applying deodorant is a chore…
The fix: Let’s be honest: neglecting to spritz your underarms in the morning is a major hygiene no-no – and the person on the bus/desk/treadmill next to you will curse you for it. However, if you tend to forget to apply your deodorant, be sure you to use a body wash morning and night that deeply cleanses your skin. We recommend the Dermalogica Conditioning Body Wash or Natures Organics Organic Care Deep Cleanse Body Wash.
Sign #6: Falling in a heap on your bed after a night out is way more appealing than removing your makeup.
The fix: It’s not as ideal as giving your skin a thorough cleanse, but face wipes are a super quick and easy way for getting rid of makeup, without having to step foot in the bathroom. These wipes will do the trick: Neutrogena Makeup Remover Cleansing Towelettes or QV Face Cleansing Wipes.

Most of the time I couldn't be bothered but now I have a daughter I'm making more of an effort with my makeup and beauty routines so she can learn that it makes a girl feel good when she looks good.

I don't think I am in a rut but when I am tired, I would rather sleep than remove my makeup. Luckily for my skin, I religiously remove my makeup every night even when tired.

I think a good trick is to keep things simple... Often, less is more. And it's far less hassle!

Is there ANYONE who would rather do dishes than do their makeup?

Oh I know it's tempting to fall straight into bed after a night out. I mean, who hasn't been there. However we all know what it's like to try and peel those eyelids open but the mascara has caused those eyelids to clamp shut and the eyeliner has crusted into the corners. Yup.

oh I could never be in a rut, I don't have the time to get settled on any one product - I have ADD when it comes to products, I open one, use it once or twice, then buy something else so always excited as I am trying something new. Have been guilty of not doing my hair though, that is why the messy bun was created (and I created it by trying to do a perfect bun and going you know what, halfway there is good enough!)

Nope not me - I'm in no rut. I can not imagine rather doing the dishes than putting on some makeup.

I am sorted as I am older now and I just give myself extra time if I want to do something more.

Sometimes I just can't be bothered to put makeup on or straighten my hair. That's what the top knot is for.

I might be in a rut - I'm kinda over makeup at the moment, more into skin and hair care.

Hahah I'm not in a rut. I have some awesome products to play with, but a 15 month old doesn't allow me much time to play. So some days I have a day off makeup :) Make that most days. My skin thanks me for it!
