What a great way to start your evening skincare routine! Even in the middle of winter, this balm has a lovely soft melting feel on contact. It easily glides over the face dissolving the day's products. I massage a small amount of this balm between my hands to warm it up and then all over my face. I love how my fingers glide over my skin with this balm. I don't spend too much time on it, but even a minute or two counts. After a quick rinse, I apply my gel cleanser and use my FOREO Luna for a second cleanse for perfectly cleansed skin. This cleansing balm does all the heavy lifting though and it does so in the most gentle, nourishing way possible. It's one of the best balms I've ever used and I absolutely love it!

After having a rather nasty reaction to another cleansing oil, I was wary to try this one. Even though the reviews were overwhelming positive. I got my hands on a sample through Mecca and I'm so glad that I did! This literally takes the day off and it leaves nothing behind. I will run my Clarisonic over my face afterwards and I have no makeup left on my skin. This stuff is the real deal!

This cleansing balm is one of the best I’ve used and is definitely on par to the famous Farmacy Cleansing Balm.

The texture is a beautiful sorbet sort of feel and it doesn’t leave a residue on the face once you wash it off which is fantastic. You simply rub your palms together with the product to warm it up and apply on your face to watch your makeup just melt off!

I find with all cleansing balms I need to use a second liquid cleanser to completely remove my makeup and this is no exception. But then again I do wear a full facecloth of makeup most days!

It doesn’t block pores at all also which is great.

About the product:

The Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm comes in a 125ml transparent purple glass jar with a silver screw top lid.
The balm is solid, white in colour, it is fragrance free.
There is no spatula included within the box so fingers or a teaspoon is needed to scoop out the product to apply.
The balm begins to melt quite quickly upon contact with the skin, it goes transparent clear in colour and transforms from a solid balm into a non greasy liquid.
About half a teaspoon should be plenty to remove a full face of makeup. It is an expensive product but a little goes a long way with this one.

My thoughts on the product:

I am disappointed there was no spatula included within the box, I dislike having to use my fingers for cleansing balms as it is not very hygenic. I have taken a star off for this reason, if one were included I would give it 5/5.
This is definitely one of the best cleansing balms that I have used so far; it is very effective at removing makeup with minimal effort.
I use about half a teaspoon, which I massage over the face for a moment or so (concentrating mostly on areas of 'heavy' makeup, which for me is mascara). The solid balm transforms into a liquid after application to the skin, it quite litterally melts and slides makeup right off; my mascara streaks and smears virtually instantaneously, very little effort is needed. I then add a tiny amount of water and continue massaging over the face; at this point the liquidy balm turns into a milky white emulsion and about 95% of all my makeup has smeared and wiped away, it really is that effortless!
I then thoroughly rinse off with warm water before following up with my double cleanse, my usual cleanser to remove any residual traces.
I have been very impressed with this cleansing balm; there is no waxy after feel left behind after removal, no oily feel to it and very little residual traces of makeup are left behind after using it.
At most there has been a tiny amount of mascara smudging left behind on my lashes, everything else (even my sunscreen) have been completely removed.
My skin is left feeling amazing after each use, very soft, moisturised and gently cleansed. Virtually all makeup is removed with such minimal effort and ease.

The final verdict:

Although I am disappointed that there is no spatula included with purchase I would definitely consider purchasing this again at some point in the future. It is definitely up there with being one of the best cleansing balms I have used so far. It is definitely one of the most effective at makeup removal and easiest to use.
Very highly recommend, especially for those who use long wearing makeup, those sensitive to fragrance in their skincare.

This is just perfect for removing all traces of makeup whilst still being gentle.
It's a very thick balm but when you massage this over your face it melts and softens. I then wet my hands and massage my face again. It completely dissolves my makeup and when I rinse my face there is absolutely no trace of makeup or the balm.
It feels like it would feel oily but it isn't at all. There is absolutely no residue left on the skin.
And there's no fragrance either.
I can't recommend this highly enough!

I had heard of double cleansing before but was never really interested until my daughter gave me this as a gift and now i'm converted because my skin has never looked better. When I've been wearing a lot of makeup it just cuts through everything and primed my skin for a good deep cleanse. It just melts everything away (even waterproof mascara) and leaves you looking and feeling super fresh.

Makeup removal is such a task. However, this product is a lifesaver because it fully removes makeup in one go, even waterproof eye makeup.

This balm comes in a plastic jar with a screw cover. The balm is a white wax. I scoop a tiny bit with my fingers and massage into my skin, then rinse, and voilà, all my makeup is gone. Generally, further cleansing is not required because this does such a good job.

Overall, I highly recommend this product and will be repurchasing.

It took me a while to actually use this one as I have tried cleansing balms in the past and found them not too effective at removing makeup and to leave greasy residue on my skin even after rinsing off thoroughly.
Thanks to past experiences with similar products,I was wary of this one and had quite low expectations.

The Clinique Cleansing Balm comes in an elegant purple hard plastic jar with a sturdy silver screw off lid.
The balm itself is a waxy texture and has no scent at all. To use,I applied aten cent piece amount to dry skin with dry hands and massaged all over my face and neck.I was absolutely amazed with how the solid wax melted instantly upon contact with my skin! It was incredibly easy and gentle to smooth and rub on my face.
Best of all-it rinses off effortlessly upon contact with water! No waxy,oily residue left on skin at all!
I used a cotton bud soaked with toner after using this to remove any remaining makeup -the cotton bud showed up totally white. This cleansing balm took off all my foundation, sunscreen and waterproof mascara! Not a trace was left at all.

I am incredibly impressed with this cleansing balm and thank BH for allowing me to try it as I never would have otherwise.

I feel like this is definitely something I would splurge on again in the future. It is so gentle on skin,effective by itself at removing all the days makeup and it leaves my skin feeling soft and smooth. Absolutely love it!

The Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm comes packaged in a purple pot and silver screw on lid. The balm itself is a solid, white balm that melts upon contact with skin. The unfragranced balm goes a long way, so a small two finger scoop is all that is needed for a thorough cleanse.

I like to scoop out the balm into the palm of my hand, massage my hands together to melt the balm into an oil consistency and then massage the product straight onto my face that has makeup on it. I give it a good massage to get the product to break down all my foundation, eye shadow, even mascara. I then wet my hands and use the water on them to emulsify the balm on the face for a good 20 seconds, before grabbing a warm, wet flannel cloth and thoroughly wiping my face.

This balm completely breaks down any makeup I have with ease and leaves no oily or tacky residue on the skin. It doesn't block the pores or irritate the skin and leaves my face feeling clean and soft.
