It’s my biggest downfall right now, the bane of my life and, most alarmingly, a source of premature ageing – eek! I’m talking about sugar, of course!

Apart from the obvious 3.30-itis, when a drop in energy levels makes it incredibly hard to steer clear of the biscuit tin, I get the odd morning where I arrive at work at 8am looking for a sweat treat and praying there’s a little square of chocolate left from yesterday afternoon’s office snack attack (working in an office full of girls has its highs and its sugary-sweet lows). High sugar fruits include mangoes, grapes, pineapples and cherries, but don’t ban them from your diet; just be mindful.)

The sour side of sugar – without getting too technical – is the fact that excess sugar in our blood stream can damage our protein molecules altering their form so that they become new molecules that damage collagen and elasticity in our skin – resulting in wrinkles and sagging skin.
