6 of the best facial cleansing brushes

As far as gizmos and gadgets go, the cleansing  brush is one of the best. Not only do they all do a top notch job of cleansing your skin (yes, better than your fingers), but they also sweep away dead skin cells and help unblock pores, while also preparing your skin for topical treatments.

This means your anti-ageing lotions and potions are able to seep deeper into your skin, enabling them to work harder and faster for better results — ideal.

Want to purchase one but don’t know which cleansing tool is right for you? Each of these six devices will treat you —and your skin — exceptionally well. Promise.

FOREO LUNA 3 plus for Sensitive Skin

Worried a cleansing brush may be too abrasive for your skin type? The FOREO LUNA 3 plus for Sensitive Skin ($349 at Look Fantastic) is the one to try; it’s specifically designed to cater to sensitive, reaction-prone skin. It’ll gently exfoliate and remove residue without triggering irritation —in other words, the days of facial cleansing brush FOMO (it’s a thing, we swear) is officially over.

LUMISKIN™ Kasi Thermal Care Silicone Cleansing Device

Designed to target the t-zone and delicate eye areas, the unique fingertip shape of the LUMISKIN™ Kasi Thermal Care Silicone Cleansing Device ($149 at LUMISKIN) perfectly fits the contours of your face to make sure you don’t miss a spot. And we must say, the bloodflow-boosting eye massage it delivers definitely doesn’t hurt matters.

Skin Physics DERMASONIC+

Meet your multitasker. The Skin Physics DERMASONIC +($79.95 at Cosmetic Capital) has all the handy features of a sonic cleansing device, with the impressive added bonus of LED function — blue light helps to clear blemishes, yellow light revitalises skin and red light enhances smoothness and plumpness.

Nu Skin® ageLOC® LumiSpa®

If you’re after refreshed, purified skin with minimised pores, try the Nu Skin® ageLOC® LumiSpa® ($389 at Nu Skin). The soft silicone head (and the brand’s impressive Micropulse Oscillation technology) allows the device to move at the precise frequency needed to promote a visible change in softness, smoothness and pore size. It also happens to come with a cleanser, offering an array of different options for specific skin types.

Manicare Sonic Mini Rechargeable Facial Cleansing Brush

Add the Manicare Sonic Mini Rechargeable Facial Cleansing Brush ($29.99 at Chemist Warehouse) to your shower shelf for a full facial treatment — the brush head factors in cleansing, exfoliation and a massage. Pretty damn good for that price point, right? It’s compact and quiet, so it’s super practical, and it’s even clinically proven to remove five times more impurities than hands alone. Impressive.

Olay Regenerist Advanced Cleansing System

Another bargain-status cleansing brush, the Olay Advanced Cleansing System ($30.49 at Chemist Warehouse) is designed to loosen, lift and swirl dirt away to cleanse and exfoliate skin. Your days of tugging at your face to take off longwear makeup are over, too (and they will NOT be missed) — its micro-massaging action removes smudge-proof products powerfully and gently.

  1. I had the Olay one pictured, but it got discontinued. Then I won a Dermasonic+ & it’s just AMAZING! It got rid of my entrenched blackheads completely, which no amount of cleansing scrubs or pore strips had ever managed to accomplish. I can’t rave about my Dermasonic+ enough – I HIGHLY RECOMMEND it!
