Cooling face masks for calming hot and bothered summer skin

After a particularly hot day, there’s nothing quite like kicking back with a face mask (and a chilled glass of rosé if you’re feeling indulgent) to unwind.

When we’re feeling hot and bothered, our faces bear the brunt of our discomfort  – red, blotchy and angry looking.

Cooling facemasks can help our skin to readjust after a spike in temperature (or maybe you were naughty and got a little sunburnt), and help us return to our regular complexion.

  1. I have a cupboard full of masks, both sheet and pots; I really must use them more regularly. Lots of these sound good. I go bright red after running so some of these sound like they would be good for me to use to cool my face; I usually avoid masks then as I feel my skin might react being so hot and flushed.

  2. Yes. Used up PTR cucumber one, rose one and Fresh Rose one. All cooling and tiny bit fun. Zilch long lasting results. But nothing beats LuLuLun white ones, my fave . Juicy skin 24 hours a day. And repairing

  3. Ha ha – love the name of the Le Tan one – Cool It! That's what I first said to my hubby when he asked me to marry him! lol It was funny but a week later I did say Yes. I might buy it for him for Valentine's Day to bring some memories back for him! ; )

  4. There are so many masks out there now claiming to have certain benefits. I guess we all need to find the one that works best for us. None of these are familiar to me.

  5. I commented on this article in 2017 when the weather was about 40 degrees. I'm rereading this article in 2020 when I have a fan heater on because I'm so cold. A cooling face mask is the last thing I'd want at the moment!
