Beauty Products He’s Not Currently Using But Would Probably Love

Do you have a man in your life who hasn’t the faintest clue when it comes to beauty products? Same.

And it’s such a shame too because they’re really missing out. After all, beauty products are for everyone – regardless of gender. Plus, more often than not, when nudged in the right product direction, they’re hooked after the first try.

So if you’re looking to introduce a few game-changers into his routine (so he can see what all the fuss is about), we’ve got some stellar suggestions…

#1 An after-shave moisturiser

You know, he probably thinks that dry, tight and red-raw feeling post-shave is normal. So imagine his delight when he discovers the power a humble moisturiser has at making skin comfortable again. Just make sure it’s a low-irritant formula like TriShave 3in1 Post Shave Moisturising Lotion SPF 30+ (great if he’s a morning shaver with the added sun protection!) or treat him to the soothing sensation that is Natio Calming Aftershave Balm. We also love Lab Series 3-in-1 Post-Shave and NIVEA Men Protect & Care 2 Phase Aftershave Lotion.

#2 Colour-restoring hair products

Discovering grey hairs can knock anyone’s confidence. And if he’s not ready to embrace a salt and pepper mane just yet (although, hello George Clooney), there are some products that can help him camouflage without committing to a complete all-over colour. Restoria Discreet Colour Restoring Shampoo is a one such clever invention, which gradually and gently restores natural-looking colour to grey hair – no ammonia or peroxide necessary. Just For Men Shampoo-In Haircolour is a similar in-shower hair hero and both work best when evenly combed through (we love a Rock & Ruddle Pocket Comb). Or if it’s for one-off special occasions, Schwarzkopf Hair Mascara provides a quick fix.

#3 Beard and moustache tamers

The relationship between a man and his facial hair is sacred; they sure are fond of the whiskers they grow. And as such, they should really take care of them. A beard oil like Urbane Mess Beard Oil or muk Haircare mr muk Beard Oil work wonders for turning tough, prickly hair into soft and touchable coverage. Or if it’s an unruly ‘tache that needs styling, try StayX Hair Perfecting Wand – just as good on short facial hairs as the baby hairs on your head.

#4 A subtle dose of glow

Nobody is immune to the signs of dullness and tiredness, especially throughout a cold and dreary winter. And if he’s not keen on using your concealer and bronzer tactics, perhaps he’ll take on some skin care advice instead. Try easing in an AHA treatment once a week to nix rough texture and dryness; BOOST LAB AHA Glow Resurfacing Serum and Nutrimetics Ultra Care+ AHA Complex Refining Solution are both goodies. And while he may not like the sound of it at first, adding some Fitcover There She Glows Self-Tan Drops into his night moisturiser or spruiking the use of pureTAN Pure Bronze Face Tan SPF15 in the morning will provide him with the subtle and healthy dose of colour he usually only gets on holidays.

  1. My man said we were nearly out of ‘soap’ the other day as he used a small bit of soap left in the soap holder in the shower. He loves his soap! So I showed him a new 4-pack of Palmolive Gold in the vanity bathroom cupboard and he was over the moon – so happy with his simple soaps!!

  2. Yep lol, he doesn’t like the feel of moisturisers n his face, i suppose i wouldn;t either, but then I out so much more on my face after the moisturiser, but he likes eye cream and will happily wear that .

  3. It is nice to know a man will take care of himself for the woman in his life! Some men don’t bother with anything to improve their appearance and I think that shows some disrespect to the woman in their life as women do what they can to look good for their man. Some men are just gorgeous naturally too. Maybe!
