duality, Thank you for your reply!

So do I just use the Phisohex on the affected areas in the shower? Is it drying at all? My skin is generally fairly dry and sensitive, which is why I am not used to it doing this!!!

I haven’t used anything different on my hair at all lately… the only new thing I have added to my body care routine however is QV cream but I have used this in the past without any problems.

That’s interesting you say that! In the past week or so I have finally gone back to the gym so I have been working out a lot more! Maybe it’s sweat that’s causing this? Eeeek!

Phisohex works so well, my teenage boy and girl both use it (someone on BH recommend it a few months ago and we are never without it). Get it anywhere Chemists Warehouse, Coles etc it often goes on sale and comes in various sizes. Not harsh but cleans the acne so well.

The reason can most often be hair products, particularly new ones with silicones, oils like mineral oil or other irritants like sulphates (sls). Did you use anything new on your hair like shampoo, conditioner, styling products etc?

Oh and edit to add my hubby gets it when he works out and doesn’t shower reasonably quickly, his pores block up.

HELP! I’m freaking out! I’ve never had any problems like this before on my body. I wouldn’t say it’s “acne” but I have noticed my skin is breaking out around my shoulders, chest and back all of a sudden? I can’t figure out WHY! And I need a quick fix 🙁

I struggled with BACK acne all my life. It’s ugly.
Despite paying an arm and leg to the beauticians who promised to help me get rid of my back acne before my wedding, it didn’t help. It was also very cold and uncomfortable while they did “facials” for my back. My makeup artist had to use concealer on my back during my wedding…

Actually i am quite THANKFUL the acne don’t appear on my face 😀
Except when i was saying the vows, lots of people saw my back not my face. sigh

My advice what has worked for me for a fraction of the costs is 2 things

    1. Exfoliate physically with a scrub and chemically with Salicylic Acid which also helps oil clogs/acne

    2. You need an anti-bacteria for the back. Acne is basically caused by bacteria. Prevention is always better than the cure.

3 products you can look into.
My sister also have bacne and i just answered the same question to her recently… i’ll treat you like my little sis then.

    1) Life Flo Health, Salicylic Acid Spray $21.75
    http://au.iherb.com/life-flo-health-salicylic-acid-spray-8-fl-oz-237-ml/46866?rcode=dtk831

    • Formulated with a 2% concentration of salicylic acid plus the added benefits of ingredients such as colloidal silver and tea tree oil to help slough away dead skin, leading to a smoother-looking texture.
    • Silver is an extremely good ingredient which is anti-microbial and anti-bacteria. I’ve used silver quite a bit in my life time and i love the stuff.
    • Sprays on for ultra convenient application to help reach hard to get to skin on the back and shoulders.
    • Salicylic Acid Topical Exfoliating Spray may help reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, and improve overall skin texture.
    • Dries quickly and is fragrance-free and color-free.

    2) Nubian Heritage, African Black Soap, Body Wash $13
    http://au.iherb.com/nubian-heritage-african-black-soap-body-wash-13-fl-oz-384-ml/8475?rcode=dtk831

    • Contains salicylic acid again
    • African Black Soap, made from palm ash, tamarind extract and plantain peel has been used in Africa for centuries to treat eczema, acne, oily skin

    3.) Body Brush $15
    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Manicare-Long-Handled-Body-Brush-Dry-Dead-Skin-Removal-Exfoliate-Buff-Accessory-/361292096482

    • No excuses not to scrub your back when you have a body brush with a long stick, I usually get the manicare brand. They’re good quality and hardy.

Hope this helps you beautyloverbyjhade 🙂

Look up acne.org they have a comprehensive guide to all forms of acne

Just washing your back with a simple soap everytime you shower can help – that cleared mine up (don’t use one that imparts moisture like Dove’s). It may also be hormone related (more likely if you also have chest and facial acne).

I have it occasionally if my skin gets oily, I just use a body scrub and that clears most of it up 🙂

I’ve never had a problem with bacne in my life but for some reason I’ve recently started developing it. I’ve been using my at home microdermabrasion kit on it, my buffer brush and exfoliating gloves with a charcoal foaming cleanser. It seems to be improving. I wish I could provide better advice but I’m also in the dark!
