The best way to pop a pimple

We all know we should just let our pimples be, but let’s face it - when there’s a giant mound on the side of your face, how can you not completely go for it?

And while the above seems inevitable, the least we can do is go about it in a ladylike fashion. So the next time you spot a spot, give this easy, quick and hygienic blemish-banishing solution a try.
What you’ll need: Two cotton tips - these are far gentler and cleaner than your nails (which should never, ever be used for pore extraction, btw).
Once you’ve dried off after a hot shower, place the cotton tips on either side of your pimple, angled toward each other and gently apply pressure. The steam from the shower will make your skin soft and clean and open your pores, making it easier for the gunk that’s inside your pimple to get out. Then, just let it air out and dry up, and remember - steer clear of any touching!
Have you ever tried using cotton tips to pop a pimple?

I’ve learnt my lesson in pimple popping..scarring. I don’t want the scar, I don’t do pimple popping. I will use any skincare treatment to get it eliminated.

I haven’t had a big pus filled pimple in ages I think due to my new skincare routine. But I’ve probably jinxed myself now.

As tempting as it is, popping pimples can cause permanent scarring...
And yes, I know I'm preaching to the converted!

I still suffer from adult acne, and yes I do pop my pimples with my fingers. Thanks for the tip of using two cotton buds, it’s a lot more hygienic!

I highly recommend using hydrocolloid stickers to stick on the pimples after you pop them. Leave it overnight and it will suck up so much pus you'll be surprised, and will also prevent reinfection. I can't believe the article didn't mention it, they're an absolute must if you want the pimple to heal properly and no get reinfected. You can find them at Priceline called "spot medic" patches or something like that.

Luckily I don’t get too many these days, but I take a similar approach when I do. I also find tea tree oil is good for drawing them out and sterilising the area.

as a beauty professional you should not squeeze spots, use a medicated face mask, keep your face clean, and always eat well, then you will have a clear complexion.
