Acne sufferers, listen up!

Are you an acne sufferer? Do you find yourself plagued with pimples and blemishes more often than you’d like to admit? Do you struggle to find products that assist your battle with breakouts?
If you answered yes to any or all of the above – then we have a very important date for you to note down in your diary next week.
On Tuesday 23rd October at 6:30pm, we’ll be welcoming Dr. Farah Meher-Homji, Cosmetic Physician at Sydney’s Cosmo Clinic into our forums for an exclusive chat with beautyheaven members. Dr. Farah is also a qualified GP and has a background in psychiatry – so helping people to look and feel better is kind of her day job!
Dr. Farah is also the ambassador for one of Europe’s most popular and trusted over-the-counter acne treatments, Papulex, which has just launched in Australia. You can check out more on this sought-after acne-fighting brand, here…
This will be your chance to ask any questions you may have about acne and breakouts. Think causes and cures, treatments and triumphs – whatever your question, Dr. Farah will do her best to answer it.
So come one, come all – it’s going to be a beautyheaven-style party, so break out the champagne and wear something comfy, because we can’t wait to ‘see’ you on Tuesday at 6:30 right here…
What acne-related questions would you want to ask a professional?

I have acne and while it's manageable with makeup, it's still depressing to have :( I'm definitely going to be watching on.

I would like to know how to keep them away. Usually when one pops up it is accompanied by another and another. Plus how to treat those scalp pimples!! I just started to get them when I recently coloured my hair :(

Being older now I don't get acne anymore, just the odd one but very scarce. This is a great subject for the younger ones and I hope they all join in.

Looking forward to this forum with doctor's advice regarding acne. I ended up getting treatment from my GP for mine. I take medication that has worked well at clearing my skin. I'd like to know what medications for acne are available and the pros and cons to taking them. How do you best treat a spot once it appears and prevent it from scaring? I'd like to know more about this new brand's offering. I've experienced acne in waves (my skin will be fine for months and then I'll get bad breakouts for months). It's completely confusing and doesn't seem to be related to anything in particular. Thanks, BH. : )

I am so lucky I only get the odd pimple now and again. My 17yo daughter has learnt the importance of cleansing and toning daily, her skin is good. My 12yo old son is developing the odd pimple, I think puberty is starting, I am teaching him the importance of cleansing, not touching your face with dirty hands (ahhhh) and using witch hazel and Clearasil spot creams to target a pimple. Such an important topic to cover. Thank goodness I don't break out quite as much as I used to, but the odd pesky pimple is still annoying!

Excellent forum BH. Fortunately I've never had a major problem but can totally sympathise with those who do have acne. There are so many products on the market it would be a mindfield working through them.

I am not sure if I would be able to join in,because I'm in overseas atm. But hopefully someone can help me ask these questions in that forum. I am a heavy acne and blemishes sufferer. I don't feel confident and have to apply heavy foundation/tinted moisturiser to make sure these acnes and blemishes are covered. I have tried everything that claims to be able to help clear my skin. They work for abit then I get these acnes back.
- How do you make sure that I only get the odd pimples?
- I use rosehip oil. It works, but not fast enough. Would love to know if there's anything else I can do to make these disappear?
- I get like little tiny pimples around my cheeks and chin. They almost look like white heads. Can I remove them?
- What are the best ways to deal with pimples? How to treat them? How do you look after your skin in order to get clear skin?
