New year, new beauty resolutions

New year, new beauty resolutions

When the clock struck midnight and we clinked our Champagne flutes together to ring in a brand new year, we all made resolutions that (let’s be real) we probably won’t keep.

So to avoid any disappointment, we put together some straightforward, no-fuss beauty resolutions for 2016 that are not only easy to keep, but will ensure you look your best in the New Year.

Repeat after me: In 2016, I promise to…

Resolution #1: Remove my make-up before I go to sleep

Keeping this resolution is made a helluva lot easier with WOTNOT Facial Wipes. Keep a pack beside your bed for those nights when you’re feeling extra lazy.

Resolution #2: Invest in a good quality eye cream

As we kiss another year goodbye, we welcome another year of age. Keep those crow’s feet at bay with SK-II Skin Signature Eye Cream. The rich cream works like an invisible mask for smoother, firmer and younger-looking eyes.

Resolution #3: Wear sunscreen daily

We know you know how important it is to wear sunscreen – so what’s stopping you? If you often forget to apply sunscreen in the AM, swap your usual moisturiser for one with SPF. We recommend asap Moisturising Daily Defence SPF50+ as it contains high SPF to boost the skin’s immunity and natural barrier function to further protect it from harmful UV rays.

Resolution #4: Treat myself to a weekly mask

Be sure to implement a weekly face mask into your skin care regimen this year. Not only will it directly address your skin concerns, but it will also leave you feeling like you’ve been professionally pampered, from the comfort of your own home!

If you’ve got oily, blemish-prone skin, give SkinB5 Skin Purifying Mask a go. For those of you with dry, dehydrated skin, we recommend Aveda Intensive Hydrating Masque. And if your skin falls into the ‘normal’ category, try 7th Heaven Damask Rose Ultra Deep Cleansing Tottle

Resolution #5: Care for my cuticles

Rub The Body Shop Vitamin E Hand and Nail Treatment into your hands, nails and cuticles twice a day for smooth, well-hydrated hands. The formula contains glycerine, vitamin E and panthenol, which work together to reduce nail flaking and breakage. Which means longer, stronger nails for you.

Resolution #6: Clean my make-up brushes

We’ve told you time and time again how important it is to clean your make-up brushes regularly. This year, aim to wash the lot at least once a month. Manicare Brush Cleaner comes in a handy spray bottle, so now you have no excuse.

Resolution #7: Get regular trims

Keep your 2016 ‘do looking fresh with a regular trim. Depending on the growth of your locks, you should be heading to the salon every six to eight weeks. We guarantee your locks will be long, healthy and luscious by the end of the year.

Resolution #8: Try a new lip colour

Go on, step out of your comfort zone and try a brand spanking new lip colour, we dare you! Orange? Purple? Black? The choice is yours.

Resolution #9: Get enough sleep

This year, try your best to get at least eight hours of sleep every night. The more sleep you get, the more likely you are to wake up fresh, clear and radiant come morning. Who can say no to that?
