Masks are great for boosting your weekly skincare regime and they’re fun too!
The Replenishing mask helps to relieve dry, distressed and dehydrated skin and is recommended to use 2 to 3 times weekly.
It comes boxed with the product in a convenient stand up tube with a flip-top lid, so it’s easy to dispense and to snap tightly shut. The soft squeezy plastic tube enables you to dispense it so as to use every last bit!
It is light cream in colour and of a medium consistency not unlike a rich moisturiser. It seems to have a slight fresh mint aroma although it is fragrance free and I was unable to find any mint essential oils in the ingredients, although it does have Lavender and Geraniums essential oils – both very soothing and calming to the skin. Other ingredients repair and help replenish essential hydration levels.
It smooths onto the skin effortlessly and is non-greasy. It does not dry at all, nor is it drying to the skin. Apply a thick layer to the face and neck and leave on for 5 to 10 minutes. This is a multi-use mask and you can either massage the excess into the skin or remove with warm water.
I prefer to use the mask in the evening and have tried it both ways – rinsing off then continuing with my night time skin routine as well as leaving it on and massaging the excess into the skin and sleeping with it left on the skin. When leaving it on the skin overnight, I wake up with wonderfully soft smooth skin.
Perhaps it should also be marketed as an overnight mask!
I’ve been using this mask for the last 3 weeks – using twice a week. As part of the Ultraceuticals 90 day Skin Challenge, I've been receiving in-salon treatments and have only this week, used this mask post-treatment.
I would Highly Recommend it for use as a post paramedical treatment (microdermabrasions and peels) to provide instant comfort and to soothe the skin during the 5-7 day recovery phase.
