I purchased the Skin Republic 24K Gold Peel-Off Mask during a Priceline sale to try. Each pack contains 27ml of product and is enough for 3 uses. The pack is resealable with a twist top lid.
I used this after cleansing and drying skin. First off, as there are 3 usages in each pack it was difficult to determine how much was enough for 1 use and sufficient enough to be effective in peeling off at the end. On first use, it was a little disappointing as the mask was a clear thick gel with hardly any gold colour to be seen. After a few more squeezes of the pack, there was some gold colour but hardly as gold as is depicted (very far off to be honest). I used my fingers to apply a thin layer all over avoiding areas such as eyes, eyebrows, hair line and lips as instructed. Left it to dry for around 35 mins and I can feel it start to tighten, very similar to a clay mask. After 35 mins, I was able to pull away the mask in one clean go which was quite satisfying but gosh this did hurt. It wasn’t very pleasant to use so probably not a mask you’d reach for an enjoyable soothing spa session at home. Very much like peeling off a huge bandaid the size of your face! After removing the mask, my skin did feel a lot softer and deeply cleansed. As someone with dry skin, I followed up with a moisturising sheet mask although you can just apply your normal serum and moisturiser afterwards.
After one use I wasn't entirely convinced, however after finishing the pack and lasted for more than 3 uses, the concept grew on me and found it more enjoyable - perhaps I got used to the initial pain! It's a bit like using the nose strips something that you can get accustomed to for the sake of beauty!
