Creamy clay masks

I very generously received the Minenssey clay mask sample pack of four from BH with my rewards room order. The pack contains four pods containing samples of Minenssey’s clay masks - Rejuvenating / Hydrating / Brightening / Deep Cleansing. They come packaged in a black matte box. Each pod contains enough masks for two uses so I trialled these over the course of 3 weeks alternating between the four. I would have liked some way of keeping these airtight but folded back the foil lid part way which made it easy to half cover the pod before the next application. By doing this it didn’t dry the mask out which is what I was concerned about. I applied each mask on cleansed skin with a brush. For transparency sake I have ageing combination skin and tend to not react to skincare products. Rejuvenating - A lovely creamy clay mask with a pink tinge and a heavy scent of rose. I love fragrance in my skin care as in my opinion it evokes a sense of spa-like treatment and luxury. At first application the mask caused a stinging sensation for about 30 seconds but soon felt cooling on my skin. However, I’m not sure how this would go on sensitive skin. Hydrating - I found this to be the creamiest of the masks. It tingled slightly on the skin on application but died down to a cooling sensation quite quickly. It had a pleasant floral fragrance that didn’t cause any irritation. Brightening - A pale grey creamy clay mask that has a light floral scent. Again very creamy to apply and caused no irritation. Deep Cleansing - A green clay mask that smells very herbal-like. This one contains pepper-berry and parsley seed. I found this mask to sting quite a lot on my skin. I tolerated this for a while and was considering removing it but it then started to feel cooling on my skin. On removal my face was quite pink but that didn’t last too long and I’ve had no further irritation from this. All in all the masks are lovely and my skin felt smooth after each one. Removing the masks was very easy - I used a warm wash cloth first to get the bulk of the product off and then rinsed my face under warm water. I will say that the clay mask didn’t “set” like a lot of clay masks I’ve used and that’s what I liked the most.
