Rated 3 out of 5 by from Easy DIY Hair Colour I have brought and used this branded hair colour too many times to count. It's one of the top few I regularly buy. I always buy the deep reds/mahongany/deep auburns and find that it gives me great coverage of my greys and will give me 100% coverage for at least 2 full weeks. This may not sound like a long time but my hair grows quite quick, so no colour really lasts forever on my greys. I like that the fumes aren't too heavy and my hair is actually left with a pretty scent for a few days. My hair ends up looking super shiny. It's not affordable for me to visit the hairdressers to keep my hair colour up-to-date, so I must rely on DIY hair colours.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The easy way to shiny hair I recently used Darkest Brown and although I found the colour a little too dark for me (completely my own fault - next time I'll opt for Medium Brown) it was super easy to apply and has left my hair really soft annd shiny. I've used quite a few colours on my hair and none have left me hair feeling in such good condition. I also think it's good value for money considering it lasts up to 24 washes. It's a great product to apply if you fancy changing your hair colour but don't want to go down the permanent route. As soon as this colour wshes out I'll definitely be applying another L'Oreal Casting Creme Gloss - Medium Brown next time though!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Fool Proof This hair colour is really easy to use and you can't really make a mistake. I've used it many times and tried various colours. I like it because it's straight forward and there's minimal mess. The colour results are great, though they fade pretty fast. On the other hand, I wouldn't expect anything else from a temporary colour that's meant to eventually wash out. This dye doesn't stain the skin as easily as some hair dyes. It also seems gentler on hair than other dyes and leaves it feeling nourished. I'm able to use just one pack of this stuff for my entire hair. (With others I would be needing two.) It goes far which actually makes it quite low cost.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Still can't find a semi permanent that works on black hair I had high hopes for this product as I had heard so many great things about this, especially when the box promised results on black hair. Alas, as usual, I was disappointed. The formula was fairly easy to assemble and did not drip once in the hair. However, even though it left it in the slightly longer, there was barely any colour visible, it certainly did not show up in photos. I also had a headache after using this product. Having said that my hair was really shiny and felt healthy after using the conditioner provided. It is a great option for dying your hair without damaging it, unfortunately it has barely any effect on black hair

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellent if you want non-permanent option I've tried a few shades from this range and the colours are all vibrant. My hair feels super soft, smooth and shiny after washing. Everything you need is in the box, instruction is very clear and super easy to DIY at home. The conditioning balm included is quite generous. It usually lasts me for 4-5 uses. I love that it doesn't contain ammonia, so you wouldn't get that stinky smell lingering for a couple of days after dyeing your hair. However, that is also a minus, because the colour is not permanent and for me, it fades quite quickly, probably just after 2.5-3 weeks. In addition, it doesn't cover grey as good as the Loreal Excellence Hair Colour range.

Simple, effective and natural

I\'ve been using casting on and off for years. I find it covers my few greys really well and makes the rest of my hair more even and lustrous. Generally I\'ll use a mid brown cool tone (I think truffle)... Read full review

Not the colour I expected but the colour I got is fun anyway

I purchased this in the shade \'Mahogany\' for my dark brown natural hair. The colour on the back of the packet is a reddish/auburnish brown. It turned my hair more of a purple in overcast natural lighting, vibrant red in... Read full review

Tips

If you start application at the roots, expect them to be the most vibrant as the dye will have been on there the longest. There is heaps of product in there to fully coat your hair. I had plenty of dye and my hair is about 4 inches below my collarbone. I didn't need the second packet I bought. Be careful with your freshly dyed , wet hair around pale clothes, towels etc. Rinse, rinse, rinse!!! Until the water runs clean and then some.

A fun colour change without too much commitment
