The Kerastase anti fall serum comes in a huge glass jar -90mls. The container comes with a pipette that you squeeze and it uptakes the product to deliver into your hair in sections. It's designed so you can apply to sections easily and directly.
Firstly the smell of this is intense. It's strong and does linger. It's hard to describe but is quite unisex leading more on the masculine side. It is a fresh chemical smell. I find the smell of this serum a bit too much. This whole anti-fall range from Kerastase has such a strong powering fragrance. It also lasts in the hair. Unfortunately for me it also gives me a headache but that does fade. On the positive it doesn't smell like usual medicinal hair lost treatments.
However regardless of the smell this serum is easy to apply to sections of the scalp with the pipette. Recommended dose is four pipettes to each section. I think this is too much. I find I only need one to two. This is actually one of the thickest hair products I've used. Most serums for hair and thin and this is thick. They describe it as jelly like. Which means I can spread around easily and massage it in. I can also brush through easily. I also focus on the areas where I have less hair.
I used this only once a week. While I didn't find it drying on my hair or scalp I found if I used it more than once a week that it irritated my scalp and caused red patches. Once a week was enough. This gave me the perfect result. I don't think you really need anymore than this. (It says it is for daily application- I didn't do this).
I just used this serum all up and I can definitely tell I have much less hair fall. It actually works. I get hardly any hair fall when washing and brushing my hair. I also feel like it made my hair stronger and I had much less breakage. I noticed when washing my hair hardly any hair fall.
Although it doesn't claim to grow hair I noticed some baby hairs growing longer - I've put this down to the fact that it stops hair fall - so they have a chance to grow. I'm currently in the process of growing my hair out to it's thickest version and this is so pleasing to see. Of course loosing less hair means thicker.
Another positive is the fact that this doesn't smell like alcohol. It's quite moisturising on the scalp. Some hair serums have too much alcohol drying you out. This does have alcohol but I can hardly tell.
I usually used this after washing my hair and while it was wet I massaged it in so I didn't notice any huge increase in greasy or oily hair. I also didn't find I needed to wash my hair more than usual - big plus.
I think it definitely works. At first I was a bit shocked at the size and the recommended dose of four pipettes thinking it won't last long - but with using it once a week and only a few pipettes - all I needed - I noticed a huge difference. The container lasted me almost a year.
Repurchase? Yes I would definitely repurchase this. I can get past the smell for good results. I love when using this how my hair felt stronger with less breakage. I would likely use this in combination with the green serum from Kerastase as that grows hair. Totally works.
