What they claim: Burt's Bees' Sensitive Eye Cream is scientifically proven to moisturise the delicate eye area without causing redness or irritation. This lightweight eye cream helps reduce the appearance of under-eye puffiness. Formulated with softening Cotton Extract, it helps skin replenish its outer layer and minimize the effects of potential irritants such as harsh soaps or cleansers while Rice Extract moisturizes and Aloe soothes. Infused with White Genepi Extract, an ingredient known for its anti-inflammatory properties and Eyebright, which contains tannins that are thought to decrease inflammation. The box is made from recycled card / paper which always ticks a box with me. The tube is simple and adorable, with a puff of cotton on the front. I'm not sure how cotton extract is going to help my eyes but I wanted to try this product as I had a skin reaction on, of all places, my eyelids only, and my regular eye products were causing major irritations. The tube dispenser is interesting, where it is not a screw top but a pop top and by squeezing the product is dispensed through what looks like a wee pen with a silicone tip. Interesting! My thoughts on application: So, I was not impressed by the 10g product size until I actually applied this eye cream. A little goes an extremely long way!!! Not even a pea sized drop (I'm talking less than a quarter to perhaps half of a baby pea will do the job) with very gentle application. It goes on like a lotion but has a creamy consistency. I was too rough on my applicator and gave it a big squeeze. The poor silicone tip must have felt like it was about to erupt! A week of use and my lids were soothed. Two weeks and I'm back to normal. I didn't use this product for it's mitigating properties against puffiness (as I do not have that issue), however I can thoroughly attest to its anti-inflammatory, soothing, moisturising properties whilst reducing redness and flaky skin (which I did have)!

Less truly is more. Be gentle with your applicator!

If the skin around your eyes has been suffering from any kind of product or environmental irritation, I would seriously consider giving this eye cream a try. It is a lovely and gentle addition to any beauty regimen.

Gentle

This product is light and slightly slippery on application. Very easy to apply and only a small amount is needed. Helps hydrate my under eye area
