Years ago, the only sunscreen I and the kids would use was Banana Boat's powder dry formulation. I especially, have quite pale skin, and need constant application of a high SPF. None of us are fans of greasy or sticky sun screens, and this fit the job perfectly. Unfortunately, Banana Boat seemed to stop making it a few years ago, and I struggled to find an alternative which felt as light and dry on the skin after application.
When I came across this Dry Balance version, I thought I'd finally found my replacement. Gorgeous scent, dry, light application, smooth even coverage. All was good. Until a few minutes later. Both of my kids said that it was 'stinging' their skin, badly enough that we had to wash it off and they had to wear something else. I tried it myself, and although it didn't actually affect me as badly (with my tired old skin?), it definitely had a slight stinging feel. I don't know if it was a bad batch or something like that, but I'm not willing to buy another bottle to find out. I had already bought two at the same time, thinking that we would get a lot of use out of it.
I do love Banana Boat products in general, but this one sadly didn't work for us.

All of our Banana Boat formulas have been dermatologically tested and although rare, it is not unexpected to see a small number of users find our products unsuitable for their personal use. In cases of a person’s sensitivity, we recommend discontinuing use and seeking professional medical advice if required.
