Aveda Wooden Paddle Brush | Rewards Room Review | Not something that I need personally

I had been eyeing on this brush for very long. I saw the excellent reviews and thought that, having long hair and LOVE the Aveda brand, it\'s something that I would enjoy. After redeeming this brush from the rewards room,... Read full review

Lightweight.

Very light paddle brush. Feels cheap. Bamboo wood with light stiff plastic bristles. They feel a bit scratchy on scalp. Base of bristles that goes into the cushion has a tiny gaps where my hair gets caught and pulls. Not... Read full review

Big but lightweight, works great on long thick hair

This brush looks intimidatingly huge, but don\'t let that deter you. It\'s very lightweight and not tiring at all to use, in fact it is lighter in weight than my other brushes that are much smaller. I have thick, long... Read full review

A lovely everyday brush

I just received this brush as my first and only (to date) Rewards Room order. I decided to spend the 500 points on this because I know that it retails for $40-49 which seemed like a great deal - and... Read full review

Tips

Keep the wood dry, store the brush out of humidity (like bathrooms), if used on wet hair, store head down to allow any moisture to drain or it could get mouldy inside the rubber base. Clean hair build up regularly using a tail comb. I also still choose to use a tangle teaser when my hair is super wet from the shower as they are cheap to replace as needed and I prefer to use this to get the leave in products such as oils and creams spread well through the hair rather than the Aveda brush, which I would rather use on my hair dry as a personal preference.

Ideal for

I like that it uses less plastic than other brushes, it looks quite classy and despite being wooden it is very lightweight. I haven’t actually used it for blowdrying as yet, but it should work well for smoothing during this or when heat styling with a straightner. There is obviously no air venting with a solid rubber cushion base design though, so it may be slower to dry with than a venting brush. So I would only finish off the heat styling with it for that reason.

Beautiful brush but nothing out of the world

So the only reason I decided to try out a hairbrush as expensive as this is because of the Reward Room - and I am very glad that I bought it from RR. It\'s a really lovely bursh that not... Read full review
