10 beauty tricks to disguise a hangover

If last night’s celebrations led to one too many drinks, chances are you woke up this morning with puffy eyes, blotchy skin and one hell of a headache. Hey, we’ve all been there. And since you can’t get back the hours of sleep you missed because you have to get ready for the day ahead, here are 10 ways to fake a fresh face.
1. SHOWER
Sure, it might seem obvious, but if you’re feeling sluggish and tired, jump in the shower, stat. Lather up with a deliciously scented body wash to instantly revive you and get rid of that ‘pub’ smell. Plus, it gives you a chance to scrub off any evidence of the night before. What entry stamp?
2. BRUSH YOUR TEETH
When you wake up with a mouth as dry as the Sahara and a ‘fuzzy’ coating on your teeth, you know you partied a little too hard. And boozy breath is a dead giveaway. Brush up, and don’t skimp on the mouthwash either. Thanks in advance!
3. WAKE UP YOUR PEEPERS
We know time isn’t always on your side the morning after the night before, but if you can swing it, give yourself 15 minutes to tackle those puffy peepers. Apply cucumber slices or cool, damp tea bags over your eyes and wait for the magic to happen. Don’t forget to pop in some eye drops, either. Extra points for whipping out the lash curler and applying mascara.
4. POP PARACETAMOL
You’re going to want to get that headache under control before attempting to take on the rest of the day. Nurofen is a great option, and since it has anti-inflammatory properties, it will also help to reduce any redness and depuff your eyes. #winning
5. MOISTURISE
Drinking is hugely dehydrating for skin, so be sure to inject some of that moisture back in. Add life to your face with a concentrated moisturiser that plumps up skin to create a dewy, glowing look.
6. TAKE THE TIME TO PRIME
Does your foundation ever look blotchy the day after a night on the town? That’s because your skin’s feeling particularly thirsty, and is looking for liquid to absorb. By using a primer, you’re creating a barrier between you and your make-up, meaning it’ll stay on longer, and won’t get stuck into your pores. Excellent.
7. SPRITZ UP
Booze makes us sweat. There’s no escaping it. It’s the body’s natural way of getting rid of the toxins we just guzzled down. To avoid getting caught out with bad B.O, blast those underarms and spritz on a fresh scent before leaving the house.
8. DON’T FORGET YOUR HAIR
It’s all about minimal effort for maximum results. Spray on some dry shampoo (honestly, whoever invented that needs a medal), and tie it back into a braid or high pony to open up your eyes and conceal any bird’s nests nestled in the back. Shhh.
9. GET THE GLOW
Fake radiance with the help of a little highlighter on your cheeks, brow and nose bones and cupid’s arrow. Follow up with a bronzer all over to conceal your washed-out complexion and finish with a flush of blush on the apples of your cheeks. Hangover? What hangover?
10. KEEP UP THE WATER
This one goes without saying, but drink plenty of water from the minute you wake up! You’ll feel better for it, we promise.

Best way to cure a hangover for me is some exercise. It hurts like hell and it's hard to get started but sweating it out with a good shower afterwards is an awesome way to feel a bit more human.

Great bunch of memes (and as always some good tips - even if you don’t have a hangover but are just tired from burning the candle).

I do most of the above the next day when I have had a big night. Showering feels like a godsend! A few other tricks I like is to give my face a light massage with a gentle cleanser, use a beige tone eye liner on my waterline, and add as much moisturiser back into my skin as possible.

For me, it's Panadol and Hydralyte before bed and then the same when I wake up. It really helps get all the good salts back in the system. Or coconut water.

The eyes are the nipples of the face? What?
I rarely get hangovers: if I drink alcohol, I drink heaps of water before I go to bed.

Hahaha! My favourite kind of article. It's highly unpleasant, but dragging yourself to the shower can seriously make a difference!
