Kate Middleton's royal baby is born!

IT'S A BOY!!
We’re super excited to finally welcome the little royal bub into the world! Or His Royal Highness Prince of Cambridge as he’ll be more formally known.
Kate and Will welcomed their first child on Monday, July 22, 4:24 p.m. local time in London (1:24 a.m. AEST). He weighed 3.8kg. His name is still yet to be announced.
It seems the entire world has been on ‘royal baby watch’ since the pregnancy was announced in December and while we’ve thoroughly enjoyed watching Kate’s baby bump grow over the last nine months (we still don’t know how a woman manages to look so elegant pregnant), we’re even more excited to watch her little one grow up. Especially if he's as cute as little Prince William and Harry were!
Unlike most celebrity babies, the first official photos of Kate's baby are not going to be auctioned off to the highest magazine bidder, but instead the newborn royal will be introduced to the world safely in Kate’s arms out the front of the hospital- just the same as Princess Diana with her two sons. The media has been camping out the front of the hospital for weeks, which makes us wonder whether the supposed due date of July 13th was Kate and Will’s own private joke.
The new royal bub will be third in line to the throne, after Prince Charles and Prince William. The royal birth will be celebrated in London, with a 41-gun salute by the King's Troop Royal Horse Artillery, fired in Green Park.
Guns and babies? Only in the royal family…
Are you excited about the arrival of the little Prince of Cambridge? Did you guess it was going to be a boy? What do you think the name will be?

Great news but a bit news overkill? So much media staking out outside the hospital with updates on.. nothing

I love any happy news. The news bulletins are always filled with heartbreak and disaster, so I welcome some cheerful news.

Oh no not you too! Everywhere I look. Do people think of the starving people in Africa? No, that's real news. The royals are no better than us. Let's stop giving them all the importance they surely don't deserve! Over it! Enough already!

I'm so happy for them. It doesn't bother me not knowing until they announce it, as long as they're healthy and happy.
