The royal baby's name is...
George Alexander Louis!
Or if you prefer formality: His Royal Highness Prince George of Cambridge.
Kate and Will have chosen to stick with more traditional names, which is quite a relief from the strange celebrity baby names we’ve been getting used to. Although I don’t think it comes as any surprise that they steered clear of naming him Apple, North or Blue Ivy. Perhaps others will follow suit and we’ll see an influx of traditional names again?
According to babycenter.com the top three most popular boy names in the UK in 2011 were Oliver, Jack and Harry. George didn’t even make the top ten. This was compared to the most popular boys names in the United States in 2011, with Aiden, Jackson and Mason taking out the top three spots.
While the royal couple have kept it traditional with their name choice, Kate is breaking the tradition of night nurses and nannies, reportedly choosing to look after her son without hired help. Bravo Kate!
