5 newborn baby nursery essentials

Designing your baby’s nursery is one of the most exciting parts of the pregnancy process. And from picking out a colour palette to finding the most adorable baby blanket, preparing the perfect sanctuary turns the thought of your forthcoming new friend into a reality.
It’s easy to get swept up in the emotion and fun of creating the nursery – but the last thing you want to do is to bring your newborn home and be without an essential. So you’ve ticked the obvious cot and the change table off your list, but we’ve rounded up five other things your newborn baby’s nursery must have, so it’s as practical as it is beautiful.
#1 A change table caddy
All parents know that nappy changing feels constant when you have a newborn. So the best thing to do? Be prepared. Turn your change table into a well-oiled machine with a change table caddy. These caddys can be found at most baby stores and are handy organisers that hang off your change table and hold all your nappy changing essentials – including a stock of ready-to-grab nappies – so you can easily juggle wipes, barrier cream and bub!
beautyheaven loves these caddy essentials: Natralus My Little one Happy Bottom Nappy Barrier Cream, QV Baby Barrier Cream, Baby U Dry Wipes and WaterWipes.
#2 Baby bedding
Baby bedding is an essential (because you are always going to need a clean set on hand) but it’s one of the fun essentials. You get to cast your creative eye over cute patterns and designs and pick out one that is perfect for your nursery.
And as for the type of bedding you should buy? Experts recommend cotton as the best kind of linen for a baby’s bed. It’s breathable, which is necessary because newborn bubs can’t regulate their own temperature. Plus, it’s super soft and easy to wash (which you’ll be doing a lot).
Keep your bub snug in a gentle cotton blanket like the Spotlight KOO Baby Frankie Printed Cot Blanket. Plus, pick out some sweet cotton sheet sets like the Spotlight KOO Baby Lottie Printed Fitted Sheets in a pretty pink pattern or the Spotlight KOO Baby Cot Sheet Set in beautiful baby blue.
#3 A baby monitor
Your baby’s safety is always top priority. So to check up on your newborn while they sleep (and to give you peace of mind) make sure you buy a baby monitor. Try the VTech BM2500 Safe & Sound Colour Video and Audio Baby Monitor (which you can find at Harvey Norman).
#4 The perfect feeding chair
Breastfeeding can be a beautiful bonding experience for you and your baby, but it can also be time consuming and very difficult for some women. So control the variables you can, and have a stellar set-up. Your chair should be uber-comfortable – like the Valco Baby Seville Glider & Ottoman (which you can find at Baby Village). Not only does it swivel 360 degrees, it also has a smooth rocking motion and can recline. But a feeding chair isn’t complete without a nursing pillow! beautyheaven loves the Spotlight KOO Baby Rory Round Cushion. Its cotton make and round shape will be comfortable for you and your bub. Plus, it has a sweet ‘Dream Big My Little One’ message. Aw!
#5 Muslin wraps
Muslin wraps can be used for everything as your newborn grows (especially in public for feeding and as a pram cover). But for newborns, you’ll use it to swaddle your little bundle for sleep and for burping. Stock up on the animal-inspired Spotlight KOO Baby Rory Printed Muslin Wraps or, if you want to keep your baby a little cosier, try the pink Spotlight Rock-A-Bye Elephant Flannelette wraps.

You can get your ex back and cure your infertility problems with Dr. Odunga. When I met Dr.Odunga, my husband had divorced me because I was a barren woman of 41 and I have been married for 21 years. I was devastated and confused as a woman of my age until when I went online to look for help on how to get my marriage back then I met Dr. Odunga. Within 48 hours of contacting him, my ex husband came back home and pleaded for me to forgive him and take him back after 5 months of divorce. I accepted him back and then I told Dr. Odunga of my bareness for him to help me with child. He did the spell and sent me the natural herbs for fertility that I will use and immediately I used this medicine, I conceived. My husband got me pregnant and I gave birth to a baby girl. Presently, I am a mother of a beautiful girl and I am happy in my marriage. This is all thanks to Dr. Odunga and his wonderful work. Contact Dr. Odunga Via Whats App number +2348167159012. I never had a baby monitor because they weren’t around when my boys were born. But sister in law absolutely swore by theirs when their babies were born. I also didn’t think we would need a bassinet but it didn’t take us long to rush out and get one. A necessity.

I think you need a bassinet. So many people overlook this! (We did!)
We thought the cot would be fine but when we got home and put baby in it she was so little the cot was TOO big you could barely see her!
Hubby had to rush out and buy a bassinet- was the best thing we invested in. Can wheel it around the house so bub can be next to you if you're doing something or can put it into a quieter area of the house if needed.

I have used spell casting to get my ex husband back to me and also get pregnant with twins girls through the help of a great and trusted spell caster after 12 years of marriage.
When I came online last year, I met a testimony about Priest ODUNGA who has been helping people and I decided to contact him. We spoke on email at (odungaspelltemple@gmail.com) and later he gave me his Whats App number which is +2348167159012 and he assured me he would help me get my ex husband back after 3 years of no contact. My husband left me because I was unable to give him a child for 9 years after our marriage. There was no contact between us anymore and I didn't know how to get to him. Priest Odunga is the best spell caster I must say. My husband called me after 24 hours of contacting Priest Odunga. Soon I received a herbal medicine for fertility from this man, I became fertile. I and my husband reconnected that very week, had sex and I became pregnant. Today, I am happy today to be the mother of twins girls and this is ALL THANKS TO PRIEST ODUNGA. I came online to say this If you need help, I believe you are saved with this spell caster. Contact his email at (odungaspelltemple@gmail.com) and you too will give a testimony too to help others

These all make sense - but the bits of furniture also matter whether you have the space for all of it!

What a great choice!
I’m not child-free but I think women shouldn’t be judged for life choices.
I love my kids but being completely honest, it was my husband who wanted kids more than I.
I hate the way society points the finger...

I didn't bother with a feeding chair, never needed it. I fed my little one either on the couch or in bed...same goes for the new babe on the way. I will feed him in bed or on the couch.

I don't have a change table. Just a change mat on a chest of drawers. I don't even have a change caddy - just a cardboard box with everything in it. My bubba is great when it comes to changing and most of the time she stays still!!
My monitor has been useful especially in the first few months. She has her own room very early on and I found it handy to check on her. I would also say a carrier is an essential.

I used all of these when my son was little, the feeding chair is a must have even though you don’t think it’s necessary.
