Top 3 reviews of the week – volume 2

Welcome Friday, it’s good to see you again! Rest assured that you’re always welcomed with open arms at bh HQ. Friday to us means two things. The first, the weekend is upon us (and how great is that?!) and the second, we have to reward three of our very special and hard-working members the prize that comes with submitting one of the best reviews of the week.

What makes a great review you ask? Well it has to be an honest recount of a member’s experience with a product. It should be useful, well written and easy to read. Are you excited to see the winning reviews? We bet you are…

Invisible Zinc UV Silk Shield Foundation

“After reading the earlier reviews on the Invisible Zinc foundation stick, I decided to give it a go. I do love the IZ range. I am so glad I have it a try – this is fantastic. My main reasons for purchasing were wanting 1. Decent coverage 2. Good sun protection (I walk to and from work each day) 3. Easy to use / easy application 4. Good ingredients without a truckload of chemicals.”¨I was not disappointed. The IZ foundation stick is fantastic. So quick and easy to apply – great texture, smooth, blends easily and I was left with a soft matte slightly powdered finish, all in under 2 mins (but yes, I did moisturise and prime first). I have combination skin and this was gentle on my skin, no dragging sensation to blend it in, and only a touch of shine at lunch which I blotted off with paper (guessing you could use the IZ powder or mineral powder). Totally recommended for summer! Stylish small tube – easy to pop in your handbag if you need a touch up. I have noticed a few comments about cleansing/makeup removal – I use an oil cleanser (from Moo Goo skincare) and it comes off easily without the need to over-cleanse. I have pale skin and the “light” shade is perfect. I add a little mineral bronzer to my cheeks if I need a darker glow. LOVE this foundation.”

Garnier Miracle Skin Perfector BB Cream

“This product works really well for me and for some others too who have reviewed it but it’s not always the right product for everyone. I have combination skin and find that this product does the job in moisturising my skin but can still be oily in my T-zone areas. I usually wear a primer which I find works wonders for my skin; if I don’t I tend to break out! I wear foundation on top of my primer to even out skin tone and cover some blemishes and from that I dust my face with a powder to set my makeup and cover the shiny areas. Saying that I actually expected this product to be slightly oily on my skin but I fixed it by doing the same thing as my normal makeup routine and dusted my face with some powder! 🙂 I’m actually yet to find a product that won’t look shiny on your skin as most products will have some sort of oil etc to make it liquid, smooth or creamy. What I have found was that from wearing the product especially in summer, my face didn’t feel so heavy with make up and clogged, it felt lighter and fresher and I noticed that my skin tone was evening out day by day. I don’t wear sunscreen on my face as it makes it oily and break out so a slight SPF15 protection helps as one of the benefits of this product.”

Batiste Coloured Dry Shampoo

“I LOVE his product. I have dark brown hair and the coloured one for black hair is great, can’t tell at all. The scent is lovely, it leaves my hair smelling great all day. I wash my hair twice a week and this works wonders on the last day of my wash. I section my hair and spray it underneath the hair. I then massage it in and I can feel my hair feeling cleaner and it looks clean, no grease left at all!! It also gives you hair some texture and volume, I sometimes use it the day after I wash my hair to give it a textured look. It leaves no residue behind. The price is great! I will definitely repurchase!”
