Keep: nail polish that can be revived
Indeed, we all love our red, coral and black nail polishes. And I don’t know about you, but throwing away a good bottle of varnish breaks my heart, especially when they’re old but unopened. This spring, add life to your bottle of thick nail polish by adding a few drops of nail polish thinner to it. Don’t confuse this with nail polish remover, though; they’re very different. Toss: old products
Just like the food in your pantry, every make-up product has shelf life. Mascaras live for three months, no longer. Liquid eyeliner lasts for six months. Lipsticks and blushes go on for 15-18 months.
Pull the dustbin out and toss everything you haven’t used in over six months. Before you know it, you’ll be heading to the beauty counters and stocking up on more bronzers and concealers. So be relentless and reshuffle.
Out-of-date eye products like eyeliners and mascaras are more prone to causing infections and irritations, so chuck those out now.
Keep: make-up brushes
Keep make-up brushes clean by washing them in lukewarm water on a weekly basis, especially if you have acne-prone or oily skin. This will prevent germs spreading and the brushes will feel as good as new on your skin post-wash. Toss: anything that’s broken
You wouldn’t want a smashed eyeshadow to leak all over your newly-cleaned drawer, or for a lip gloss to ooze out all over your handbag now, would you?
Finally, rearrange your shelf

Lay out all the products on your bed and then streamline them according to what you use daily and occasionally. Now put together a make-up bag with all the products you use every day, without a fail, and organise the remaining in your drawer so you can see them all.
