We’ve got all of five minutes to spare before the RAFW wrap-up party kicks off, but we want to spend every one of them telling you about the gorgeousness that was the Tina Kalivas show this afternoon (while party-prepping like mad, obviously).
Why are we so inspired? Two words: fairydusted fantasy. Models floated down Kalivas’ runway like visions from our favourite fairytales.
The look: A perfectly matte face, petal-pink lip and peachy cheek provided the Cindarella-sweet backdrop for this week’s most mesmerising eyes. First, MAC make-up artist Jody Oliver left lids naked, relying on a ring of black liner and long false lashes for definition. Then came the fairydust. She sprinkled glimmering Swarovski crystals along each eye and up to temples. “This is very much a fantasy make-up look,” explained Oliver. “The Swarovski crystals add a whimsical touch, as if the models are in a fantasy land.”
We were spellbound. And inspired to wash our lids in ultra shimmery shadow the instant we got back to our desks (lucky we had some Revlon Diamond Lust Sheer Eye Shadow laying around).
The locks: Think Rapunzel on the runway. “Imagine a girl running through a forest, wild and free, looking for the unicorn,” said hairdresser Alan White. “The wispiness of the hair gives it a sensuality and the beautifully long length floats when she walks. The hair is clean and devoid of product – it’s blow-waved but not overdone.” Simply divine. And pretty simple to do.
The details: Nails were painted matte silver and tinged with the subtlest hint of gold. Both are brand new CND colours that won’t be on shelves for a while yet (sigh), but worry not, you’ll be the first to know when they are.
For now, we’re off to celebrate the fairytale end to the Fashion Week that was. And then fall into a fabulous sleep.
Have a gorgeous weekend,
