How-to: a polished daytime make-up look

Do you have trouble with lipstick not lasting until your first coffee of the morning?  Do you have to reapply your lip colour frequently throughout the day?

If this sounds familiar you will love the new L’Oreal Paris Infallible 2-step Lip Colour.  There are 14 beautiful shades to suit every skin tone ranging from nude to red and everything in between.

I have been experimenting with the range and am extremely impressed with how long the colour lasts.  I apply the lip colour as the last step in my makeup routine just before I rush out the door and it is still there at the end of the day! I actually have to remove it with makeup cleanser when I am cleansing my face in the evening.

For some of the more vibrant colours I reapply a little of the colour in the centre of my lips at lunch time and I add a little more of the moisturizing balm so that my lips are nice and glossy for the remainder of the day.

As there are so many gorgeous colours in the range I thought that I would show you a couple of looks that I have been wearing to show you how easy it is to incorporate these gorgeous lip colours into your beauty routine.

Polished and poised

Do you have a ‘go to’ look that you know works for you?  I deal with the public every day so I need my makeup to be professional and polished.  I don’t want any part of my makeup to be ‘over the top’ so I have found that a dewy foundation, neutral eyes and a pretty lip colour always fits the bill.

What did I use to achieve this look?

Foundation: I believe that the key to a polished look is to have a foundation that suits your skin tone perfectly and covers what you want it to cover while also allowing your skin to glow.  I applied the L’Oreal Paris Lumi Magique in N3 Pure Linen with a foundation brush and then applied a light dusting of powder to set.

Bronzer and blush: for an everyday look, I like to add a small amount of bronzer to warm up my complexion. For this I used the L’Oreal Paris Glam Bronze la Terra.  I applied this with a light hand and then added a touch of the L’Oreal Paris True Match Blush in Nude Brown on the apples of my cheeks.

Eyes: a subtle wash of colour with defined lashes is my go to for this look.  I find that I need an eye primer or cream shadow as the first step in my eye routine so for this look I used the Make Up For Ever Aqua Cream in White before adding a mix of the two lighter colours in the L’Oreal Paris Colour Appeal Trio Pro in Beige Taupe.  I then lined my eyes with the Maybelline New York Master Precise Liquid Eyeliner and added a swipe of Benefit They’re Real Mascara.

Lips: there are many colours in the L’Oreal Paris Infallible 2-step Longwear Lipstick range that would suit this look but I used 109 Blossoming Berry.  It adds just the right amount of colour to my lips to help brighten my face without being over the top.

What is your go to make-up look for daytime?  Which of the 14 colours in the L’Oreal Paris Infallible lipstick range would you like to try?
