I have a huge confession to make: I’ve been going to bed with my make-up on. Worse, I’m not just talking the waterproof mascara that’s so everything-proof it seriously won’t come off; I mean foundation, blush, eyeshadow& my whole beauty kit and caboodle.
And the cardinal beauty crime isn’t paying off. I’m not doing my pores any favours and now I’ve also got profile-shaped smudges on my pillowslip to match the fake tan-stained sheets I ruined last summer. Joy.
Yes, of course I know much better. So whats my glitch? I’m lazy. Especially post-party when it’s off with the heels and straight into bed. Plus I hate being blasted out of a delicious sleepy spell by splashes of cleanser and water.
But this weekend I’m determined to repent of my skincare sins and turn over a new, fresh-faced leaf. The solution: nightly absolution with De-Maq Expert Ultra-Effective Make-Up Removing Wipes from L’Oreal Paris ($11.25). Soaked in more goop-melting cleanser than most wipes, these bedside bureau must-haves deal with a full face of make-up in seconds. Even mascara. They don’t tear, you don’t have to rinse and the light veil of moisture left on your face keeps you feeling fresh and soft ’til morning. Even I can manage that with my eyes closed.
Though I do have a back-up plan: a mineral make-up only rule on Saturday nights. True, it won’t help my linens much, but pure mineral make-up is so good for your skin you can sleep in it on weekends at the very least. Besides, you never know when you’re going to need to wake up on the gorgeous side of the bed, do you girls? Wink, wink…
I’m the same, lazy but I now know leaving makeup on before bed is the worst thing I can do for my skin.
Yes! Makeup is dirt after all!
I don’t use makeup wipes!
Love the nivea wipes the best
I have laways washed before bed, I use to have a friend who would go to bed with her makeup on and it hadn’t budged in the morning
