This is how we will be spending Christmas Day this year…

“There’s a big tradition to Christmas Day at the Taemets household, and it always involves lots of Champagne. We like to open presents first thing where someone ‘plays Santa’ and hands out the gifts, and my dad ensures no one’s glass is ever left half-empty. Then, we’ll spend the rest of the day eating and swimming (and drinking, of course)!” – bh’s Astrid

“This year I will be spending Christmas in Sydney for the first time! My family are from Melbourne, so usually I go home for the holidays – but they’re coming to me this year. I’m really excited to have them all here and am hoping for hot weather so we can all head down to the beach after lunch!” – bh’s Beth

“This year I’ll be eating and drinking my way through Christmas with my family and friends. There’s always plenty of Champagne, seafood, pavlova and an afternoon game of beach cricket.” – bh’s Sophie

“Christmas Day is by all means the biggest day of the year for my family. We have a big lunch at my nana’s house with seafood, a huge ham, plenty of veggies, roast pork, and desserts galore. The day is all about eating and drinking, laughing and crying, giving/receiving presents, and sharing memories (as well as creating new ones!).” – bh’s Ally

“I’ll be spending my Christmas Day eating lots of good food, binge watching Seinfeld re-runs with my brother (a Christmas tradition!) and dressing my two French bulldogs in ridiculous festive costumes.” – bh’s Kate

“My Christmas Day will be spent with my little family swimming, BBQing and enjoying the inlaws’ Italian feast… made from scratch, of course!” – bh’s Bernadette

“Being Belgian means we’ll be spending Christmas Day a bit differently to the average Aussie family. My parents travelled half the world to spend Christmas with me and my fiancée – bless them. And like last year, my dad only wanted one thing for Christmas: getting a photo of the four of us on Bondi Beach with…. wait for it… a Christmas hat.” – bh’s Mel

“Christmas Day will be spent with family, eating Christmas goodies, listening to Christmas tunes and just spending time together. The turkey is my job this year so fingers crossed it turns out OK.” – bh’s Bianca

“I will be spending Christmas cruising around the Pacific Islands – so Christmas Day will be spent snorkelling with tropical fish and drinking pina coladas! :)” – bh’s Kate

“Luckily for me I’ll be having two Christmas Days this year. On the 25th I’m looking forward to waking up early to open presents and have a Champagne breakfast before my house is filled up with family members for Christmas lunch in the afternoon. On the 26th I get to celebrate it all again and will be treated to my dad’s amazing seafood lunch, which he puts on every year.” – bh’s Steph

“This year, my Christmas Day will involve an excessive amount of cold cuts of meat, rumballs and trifle, Bing Crosby Christmas carols and a game of backyard cricket to top it all off!” – bh’s Rosie
