We spoke to Rachael to find out how she does it all, her everyday beauty routine and her favourite products.
What are the 5 beauty products that you can’t live without?
- Urban Decay Naked Skin Weightless Complete Coverage Concealer, it’s a mouthful but worth it.
- Colour Theory Plump Mascara has been a favourite of mine for some time, and for only $8, it’s fantastic and affordable for the everyday make-up bag.
- Ere Perez Vanilla Highlighter in Sun Halo is ideal for a quick dusting over my cheek bones and Cupid’s bow.A Colour Theory bronzer called Sun Kissed, it gives
- A great glowy appearance to your complexion which is perfect for touch ups.
- I always use a serum for my skin depending on the season, at the moment I’m loving the Ultraceuticals Hydrating Serum for ultimate hydration during the day.
What beauty products do you always carry with you in your handbag?
Adding a bit of colour to your face is a great way to give you a boost during the middle of the day. If there’s one thing I will always reach for in my bag, it’s a bronzer for this reason. I love Colour Theory’s Sun Kissed bronzer for when I’m on the go, and combining that with a concealer, I’m usually covered for any touch-ups during the day.
Describe your everyday makeup routine?
I love the beauty trend of ‘less is more’ at the moment, especially since as a mum my makeup routine has to take a hit on those busy days. There just aren’t enough hours in the day sometimes! On a daily basis I tend to opt for focusing on a healthy and glowing base while accentuating my key features. My favourite go-to illuminator at the moment is the Ere Perez Vanilla Highlighter. I generally pair this with the Colour Theory Plump Mascara (still a fave), put a little bit of colour on my cheeks and finish off with a plumping lip gloss for a natural look.
How has your beauty routine changed since becoming a mum?
For me, getting a full night’s sleep has been difficult as my daughter didn’t sleep through the night until she was about one and my son has been somewhat similar. When you’re tired and busy, a beauty routine can be difficult to maintain but there are elements I always try to uphold. I never go to bed with makeup on, I cleanse and moisturise morning and night and I try to take time for myself here and there by doing a face mask or something similar. Since becoming a Mum I’ve learnt that preparation is key and this applies to my beauty routine, having key essentials in my hand bag makes sure I’m always covered.
Do you have any time-saving makeup tips?
Applying a full face of foundation can be time consuming and on a day to day basis it’s great to let your skin breathe. I think if you’re short on time, opt for a little concealer under the eyes and in any problem areas, volumise your lashes with mascara, a gel through your brows to define your face and you’re good to go! By focusing on only three areas you’re saving minutes and accentuating your complexion, eyes and brows all at the same time!
How do you take care of your skin to keep it in such great condition?
Keeping your skin clear doesn’t just come down to one thing and unfortunately it’s not always in our control when hormones come into the mix. However, a healthy balance of clean eating, enough sleep and a promising skincare regime will give you the best possible starting point. My skincare typically includes cleansing and moisturising morning and night, as well as trying to exfoliate once a week. I really like the Dr Spiller Collagen Cream at the moment.
What’s your favourite way to style your hair on an average morning?
I am a fan of wearing my hair down or in a ponytail, it’s just simple and easy. My biggest recommendation if you feel that these styles leave your hair a little flat, would be to try using a voluminous powder or dry shampoo – they’re not just for a bad hair day! These tools can give your hair some texture and oomph, and will help to maintain an effortless style all day.

Rachael Finch has a lovely face, high cheek bones and lovely eyes, what abeautyful sight she is without trying anything else . This photo with make up is great as she looks natural and not too Made UP. I have a fair skin and use bronzer very very lightly to emphasis my cheek bones and give me definition on my face. I love how she has made her face look so natural. Well done and a Mum to boot.

Is she a celeb too? And a mum....how much time she has for all of this, kinda full on (takes a while to do full face makeup but she manages. Probably not daily)

Less is definitely more, I like her approach in thing's & how she goes about them. I don't have any of her product's but I like that she wear's serum's on her face although I don't have the one she got I do prefer those over cream's at time's they are really light & hydrating on skin no matter what one you use. She also has a nice smile in photo up top & definitely give her 10 bonus points for having the name Rachael spelt correctly that's the way I spell my real name that is the correct form.

She always looks lovely and has been busy lately commentating the Aust Open Tennis and the Winter Olympics. Don't think that lippie in the photo really suits her.

I always, always, have lip balm and blotting papers in my handbag. They are the only two makeup-related items I will always have on my person. Everything else is added on an as-needs (look) basis.

She really has come a long way with her career now. I don't know how she does it all being a mum too. She certainly is beautiful and loved the article.

Great article. Did not realise she is a Mum. A lot less time for yourself when you are a Mum so she offers great time saving tips.

Haven't tried Colour Theory previously but that price point is a bargain! Tinted brow gel is my favourite quick fix product to use, can rush and not worry about a sloppy application.
