Fashion Week: eye makeup done differently

Not only is Fashion Week a time for us to get a sneak peek into what’s new in the world of fashion, but it gives us some insight into the beauty trends we need to be embracing, too.
Here are some of the glorious eye make-up looks spotted on the runways of Mercedes Benz Fashion Week just a few days ago.
THE DOUBLE WINGED LINE - ELLERY
Yes, that is two winged lines you see per eye – one flicking out from the top lash line and the other flicking out at the same angle from the bottom lash line.
To achieve this look…
Create the line on both the top and bottom by using a creamy gel liner and a fine, angled gel liner brush. It’ll work best if you keep the two lines parallel to one another and make sure they don’t go longer than the end of your eyebrow.
Quick tip…
If this look is a little too out-there for you, try keeping the lines very close together. This will give the illusion of one flick instead of two.
WHITE LINER – KARLA SPETIC
Well this look is certainly striking, isn’t it? The thick, white wing works wonderfully to enhance the eyes and give the make-up look a focal point.
To achieve this look…
You’ll want to get your hands on a white gel liner. You could also use a matte white eyeshadow and mix it with some water to create a paste. Then create your winged liner as you normally would.
Quick tip…
You can easily tone it down by simply making the winged line thinner or just lining your top lash line with your white liner.
THE BOTTOM LINE – WE ARE HANDSOME
This heavily-defined bottom lash line is just downright stunning and is enhanced perfectly with an equally heavy top lash line and voluminous lashes.
To achieve this look…
Use a gel formulation to line your top lash line from corner to corner, creating a gentle flick at the outer corner. Next, define your bottom lash line with the gel from corner to corner, too, making sure that the two lines don’t meet. Finish it off by lining your bottom waterline with white eyeliner to make your eyes pop.
Quick tip…
For a more subtle approach, try this look with a pencil liner that isn’t as deeply pigmented.
SO WHAT DO I WEAR WITH THESE?
Good question! Because these looks are quite eye-heavy, you’ll want to keep your lips subtle and natural. A nude or slight pink gloss is perfect.
You’ll also want to ensure that smile of yours is in tip-top shape, seeing as a bright, white smile is the kind of accessory that complements any new season trend – no matter what it is. Colgate® Optic White™ toothpaste is formulated with the whitening ingredient used by dentists* and will help lighten your teeth by up to three shades in just four weeks!**
*Gentle, lower strength hydrogen peroxide (1%) formula for everyday use.
**Individual results may vary.
What do you think of these eye looks? Which are you most likely to try?

Great looks if you're young, but a bit over the top if you're older.

This is a weird look not for me.

I think the white liner top and bottom is scary. I wear white on my waterline to open up my eyes but I wouldn't extend it to my entire eye line. I have a very pretty lilac eyeliner which goes beautifully with my green eyes.

Love the double winged eyeliner and the white eyeliner on the lower waterline. Both gorgeous looks!

The double winged line is certainly very cute, but I sometimes struggled just getting an even top line on both sides! The bottom pick is very 60s and something I've done before.

Not a fan of the double white eye liner, maybe because of my age.

They suit the runway, but not so practical for the rest of us I think

It is, but can be done in different colours (I did silver instead of white, do not like matte shades, just glossy ones). Also bottom liner (in different colours too). I do when wearing makeup at rare occasions always something a bit different. And it works!

I like the double winged eyeline, but I don't think I'd try it on for everyday.

OK for the catwalk, but I struggle with eyeliner at the best of times so I probably wouldn't give these a go.

wow these are a little intense for me I think. Don't get me wrong I love my winged eyeliner and a touch on my water line and tight line but for me these look a little too over the top for general wear and kind of make their eye's look smaller instead of defined.

I love the double flick but if I can't achieve one, I really doubt I will be able to do two flicks...sigh Also like the white liner but not quite that thick, as a feature...

They're all a bit extreme for me

This is cutting edge and I don't think it's for me, I think if anyone could pull this off it would be for a younger person.

Good eye looks but I personally would never wear it myself!

That must be a thick white gel rather than a pencil

I'm not a fan of any of those looks unfortunately. A little too weird for me. The rest of their makeup is fine, but the eye makeup is not my thing.

I think these eye makeup tricks are interesting, I dont mind them although Im happy with my smoky eye look mainly. The only one I wasnt keen on was the 2nd one, too out there for me, it looks a little space age!! but its good to know what in fashion when it comes to new makeup styles.
