4 magnetic products that'll change your life
I’ll be honest; I never thought I’d need a magnet for anything other than sticking my shopping list and a few take-away menus to my fridge. As it turns out, magnets are much handier than I could have ever imagined.
See, some incredibly smart people in the beauty biz saw an opportunity to use magnets in the packaging of products and it has made a world of difference. Like the no-more-lipstick-smears-all-over-everything-in-your-handbag kind of difference.
Behold, here are four magnetic products that will make your life so much easier, better and cleaner.
How many times have you bought a make-up palette containing a couple of shades that you never use? Probably every time. Well, this clever compact solves that very problem because you buy the compact as an empty case and then purchase individual eyeshadows, blushes and, bronzers to fit into it. Both the compact and the refills are magnetised, so you just click your colours into place and viola! Your own personalised palette filled with colours you’ll actually use.
RAE MORRIS MAKE-UP BRUSHES
Storing brushes can be tricky. Put them in a canister and all of your brushes fall into each other and you end up with foundation on your blending brush; put them in a drawer and you’re digging around for ages to find the one you’re after. These nifty brushes have magnets in the handles, meaning that they stand upright when placed on a magnetic surface. Not only is this a way more hygienic way to store your brushes, but it keeps them in tip-top shape, too. Oh, and another cool thing? Once you’ve washed your brushes, you can dry them upside down.
I’ve lost count of the number of times I’ve reached into my bag to find that my bright, beautiful red lipstick has gone EVERYWHERE. It wastes the product and it’s a pain to clean. Enter this tube of lipstick, which uses magnets in the most magnificent way.
Magnets have been placed in the lid and on the base of the tube, which allows the product to completely snap shut and require decent force to open back up. Your lipstick and your diary, phone, and wallet can rest easy now.
NARS DUAL-INTENSITY EYESHADOWS
It ain’t easy storing a gazillion eyeshadows in a neat, organised fashion. If the packaging isn’t magentised, that is. These little square boxes have been designed so that they can be easily stacked in a neat little pillar in your cupboard. The magnets also mean that once the lid is closed, it’s shut tight.
